Answer:

The answer to your question is: 43 %

Explanation:

Data

NO = 7 mol

O2 = 5 mol

NO2 = 3 mol

percent yield = ?

Reaction

                             2NO(g)    +   O2(g)  ⇒    2NO2(g)

Proportion of reactants

From the reaction             2 moles of NO / 1 moles of O2 = 2

From the experiment        7 moles of NO / 5 moles of O2 = 1.4

Then, the limiting reactant is NO.

Rule of three

                            2 moles of NO -------------- 2 moles of NO2

                            7 moles of NO --------------   x

                            x = (7 x 2) / 2

                            x = 7 moles of NO2

% yield = experimental/ theoretical x 100

% yield = 3/7 x 100

% yield = 42.9 ≈ 43

2. Calculate the number-average molecular weight of a random poly (isobutylene-isoprene) copolymer in which the fraction of isob
Phoenix [80]

Answer : The number-average molecular weight is, 97500 g/mol

Explanation :

First we have to calculate the molecular weight of isobutylene and isoprene.

The molecular formula of isobutylene and isoprene is, C_4H_8 and C_5H_8

Molecular weight of C_4H_8 = 4(12 g//mol) + 8(1 g/mol) = 56 g/mol

Molecular weight of C_5H_8 = 5(12 g//mol) + 8(1 g/mol) = 68 g/mol

Now we have to calculate the average repeat molecular weight.

Average repeat molecular weight = 0.25\times (56g/mol)+(1-0.25)\times (68g/mol)

Average repeat molecular weight = 65 g/mol

Now we have to calculate the number-average molecular weight.

Number-average molecular weight = Average repeat molecular weight × Degree of polymerization

Number-average molecular weight = (65 g/mol) × (1500)

Number-average molecular weight = 97500 g/mol

Thus, the number-average molecular weight is, 97500 g/mol

What are the advantages and disadvantages of common names? ( mention one advantage and one disadvantage)
Novay_Z [31]

Explanation:

Advantages of Common Names

The main advantage of using common plant names is ease of usage and common understanding in certain geographical areas and, conversely, the prevention of confusion among the laymen who do not understand Latin

.What are the disadvantages of common names?

These names may not be same every where in all places so in order to have universally similar name.

Creates confusion among different languages.

Cannot identify one particular species by common names.

Determine the unknown mineral using the information given below. Be sure to use significant figure rules when doing calculations
Ivenika [448]

The unknown mineral is gold because of the similar properties of gold to that unknown mineral.

What is unknown mineral?

The unknown mineral is Gold because it has similar properties to the gold. Gold has density of 19.3 grams per cubic centimeter which is same to this unknown mineral. The hardness and mass of the mineral are also similar to the Gold.

So we can conclude that the unknown mineral is gold because of the similar properties of gold to that unknown mineral.
