In a sample containing 100 atoms of X, 70 were found to be 9X while 30 were 11X isotopes. Determine the average relative atomic
Burka [1]

The average relative atomic mass of a sample containing 100 atoms of X, 70 were found to be 9X while 30 were 11X isotopes is 9.6g.

<h3>What is Atomic mass? </h3>

Atomic mass is defined as the whole mass of an atom.

It is also defined as the sum of atomic number and number of neutrons.

Atomic mass = Atomic number + neutrons

<h3>What is Isotopes?</h3>

Isotopes are the those element which have same atomic number but have different mass number and number of neutrons.

The average relative atomic mass can be calculated as

mass of isotopes/ mass of sample

mass of all isotopes = (70 × 9X) + (30 × 11X)

=(630 + 330) X

= 960X

Average relative atomic mass = 960X/ 100 X

= 9.6 g

Thus, we concluded that the average relative atomic mass of a sample containing 100 atoms of X, 70 were found to be 9X while 30 were 11X isotopes is 9.6g.

Enter your answer in the provided box. The vapor pressure of ethanol is 1.00 x 10² mmHg at 34.90°C. What is its vapor pressure a
zavuch27 [327]

Answer:

2,54x10² mmHg

Explanation:

To solve this problem you can use Clausius-Clapeyron equation that serves to estimate vapor pressures or temperatures:

Ln(\frac{P_{2}}{P_{1}} ) =\frac{ deltaH_{vap}}{R} (\frac{1}{T_{1}}-\frac{1}{T_{2}} )

Where:

P1 is 1,00x10² mmHg

ΔHvap is 39,3 kJ/mol

R is gas constant 8,314x10⁻³ kJmol⁻¹K⁻¹

T1 is 34,90°C + 273,15 = 308,05 K

T2 is 54,81°C + 273,15 = 327,96 K

Thus:

Ln(\frac{P_{2}}{1,0x10^{2}mmHg}) =\frac{39,3kJ/mol}{8,314x10^{-3}kJ/molK} (\frac{1}{308,05K}-\frac{1}{327,96K} )

Thus, P2 is <em>2,54x10² mmHg</em>

I hope it helps!

There are 12 inches (in). in 1 foot (ft). which expression can be used to find the number of inches in 2.5 feet?
Nady [450]
Given:
12 inches in 1 foot
number of inches in 2.5 feet

2.5 feet * 12 inches/1foot = 2.5 * 12 inches = 30 inches

1 foot + 1 foot + 0.5 foot = 2.5 feet
12 inches + 12 inches + 6 inches = 30 inches

12 inches : 1 foot = x : 2.5 feet
12 inches * 2.5 feet = x*1foot
30 inches * feet = x * foot
30 inches = x
