Given:

x = 12 in, y = 16 in and z = 20 in

To find:

The surface area of the geometric shape.

Solution:

Area of top rectangle = z × z

                                    = 20 × 20

Area of top rectangle = 400 in²

Area of middle rectangle = z × y

                                          = 20 × 16

Area of middle rectangle = 320 in²

Area of bottom rectangle = z × x

                                          = 20 × 12

Area of bottom rectangle = 240 in²

Area of left triangle = \frac{1}{2}yx

                                $=\frac{1}{2}\times16\times12

Area of left triangle = 96 in²

Area of right triangle = \frac{1}{2}yx

                                $=\frac{1}{2}\times16\times12

Area of right triangle = 96 in²

Surface area = 400 + 320 + 240 + 96 + 96

                     = 1152

The surface area of the geometric shape is 1152 in².

Write the slope-intercept form of the equation for the line.
Fantom [35]
Well, let's take a peek at the graph of that line, hmmm let's pick two points, heck, those tow on the extremes anyway, and those are (-5,2) and (5,-1), alrite.. now, let's do some checking on that.

\bf \begin{array}{lllll}
&x_1&y_1&x_2&y_2\\
%   (a,b)
&({{ -5}}\quad ,&{{ 2}})\quad
%   (c,d)
&({{ 5}}\quad ,&{{ -1}})
\end{array}
\\\\\\
% slope  = m
slope = {{ m}}= \cfrac{rise}{run} \implies
\cfrac{{{ y_2}}-{{ y_1}}}{{{ x_2}}-{{ x_1}}}\implies \cfrac{-1-2}{5-(-5)}\implies \cfrac{-1-2}{5+5}
\\\\\\
\cfrac{-3}{10}

\bf \stackrel{\textit{point-slope form}}{y-{{ y_1}}={{ m}}(x-{{ x_1}})}\implies y-2=-\cfrac{3}{10}[x-(-5)]
\\\\\\
y-2=-\cfrac{3}{10}(x+5)\implies y-2=-\cfrac{3}{10}x-\cfrac{3}{2}\implies y=-\cfrac{3}{10}x-\cfrac{3}{2}+2
\\\\\\
y=-\cfrac{3}{10}x+\cfrac{1}{2}

The distance traveled (in feet) by the three-toed sloth can be modeled by f(s) =2.3s, where s is the time in minutes. Find the d
Mice21 [21]

\huge{\boxed{\text{110.86 feet}}}

We know that f(s)=2.3s and s=48.2

Substitute in the value. f(48.2)=2.3*48.2

Use a calculator to multiply. f(48.2)=\boxed{110.86}
