Answer : The mass of calcium in sample B is, 0.310 grams.

Explanation :

Law of definite proportion : It is defined as a given compound always contains exactly the same proportion of elements by weight.

Now we have to calculate the mass of calcium in sample B.

As, first sample of 0.146 g of fluorine = second sample of 0.294 g of fluorine

So, first sample of 0.154 g of calcium = second sample of \frac{0.154}{0.146}\times 0.294=0.310g of calcium

Therefore, the mass of calcium in sample B is, 0.310 grams.

How much of a sample remains after three half-lives have occurred? 1/16 of the original sample 1/9 of the original sample 1/8 of
Drupady [299]
For this question, assume that you have 1 compound. This compound is divided in half once, so you are left with 0.5. That 0.5 that remains is divided in half again, this is the second half-life, and you are left with 0.25. The final half life involves dividing 0.25 in half, which means you are left with 0.125. For the answer to make sense, you need to know your conversions between decimals and fractions. To make it simple, if you have 0.125 and you times it by 8, you are left with your initial value of 1. Therefore, after three half-lives, you are left with 1/8th of the compound.

How many moles are there in 2.73 x 1023 water atoms? a 4.65 mol b 0.453 mol c 0.3.53 mol d 0.270 mol
Zinaida [17]

Answer:

b. 0.453 mol

Explanation:

To convert atoms to moles, use Avogadro's number (6.022×10²³).  Divide the amount of atoms that are given by Avogadro's number.  You should get 0.453 mol.

\frac{2.73*10^{23} }{6.022*10^{23} } =0.4533
