Explanation:

If ice is heated below the triple point of pressure of ice then it will directly convert to water vapor. This process is called sublimation.

<em>In these kind of questions pressure is generally kept constant. So, make a constant pressure line which is horizontal line in this graph. Now when something is heated then its temperature increases. So, move from left side to right side on the constant pressure line.</em>

In this case, on moving along the constant pressure line is below the triple point, the first encountered line is line of sublimation ahead of which is vapor phase. So if you give heat to ice at a pressure below constant pressure line than it will directly convert to water vapor.

Pepsi [2]
The ideal mechanical advantage (IMA) of an inclined plane is given by:
IMA =  \frac{L}{h}
where L is the length of the inclined plane while h is the height.
In our problem, L=120 m and h=40 m. Therefore, the IMA of the ski lift is
IMA= \frac{120 m}{40 m}=3

A 12 Volt lead-acid car battery, engineered for "up to 500 or more charge/discharge cycles," has a rating of 95.0 Ampere-hours.
Lena [83]

Answer:

Explanation:

Electrical energy = potential x charge

potential = 12V ,

Charge = 95 amp-hours

= 95 x 60 x 60 coulomb

= 342000 coulomb

Electrical energy stored in battery  = 342000 x 12

= 4104000 J

= 4.1 x 10⁶ J .

Power P is the rate at which energy is generated or consumed and hence is measured in units that represent energy E per unit time t. This is:

P = E/t

Solving for t:

t = E/P

t = 6007 J / 500 W

t = 12.014 s

<h2>t ≅ 12 s</h2>

A nautical mile is 6076 feet, and 1 knot is a unit of speed equal to 1 nautical mile/hour. How fast is a boat going 8 knots goin
mezya [45]

Answer:

The speed of the boat is equal to 13.50 ft/s.

Explanation:

given,

1  nautical mile = 6076 ft

1 knot = 1 nautical mile /hour

1 knot = 6076 ft/hr

speed of boat = 8 knots

 8 knots = 8 nautical mile /hour

               =8 \times \dfrac{6076\ ft}{1\nautical\ mile}\times \dfrac{1\ hour}{60\times 60\ s}

               = 13.50 ft/s

The speed of the boat is equal to 13.50 ft/s.

The conventional relatively small unit for work(ignoring time) such as raising one pound one foot is the foot-pound(ft. lb.). Si
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

1 joule = 0.737 foot-pound

Joule is the unit of work.

1 J = 1 N·m

In SI units

1 J = 1 kg· m/s²

0.737 foot-pound is the amount of work to raise 0.737 pounds one foot or raising one pound to 0.737 ft.
