A 150 mm long normalized 1045 steel shaft is turned down from a diameter of 100 mm to 90 mm in a single pass. The side cutting e

dge angle σ is 0°, the cutting speed v is 135 m/min, and the feed per revolution fr is 0.22 mm. Determine (a) the chip area A [mm2], (b) the material removal rate Q [cm3/min], (c) the tangential component of the cutting force Ft [kN], (d) the power needed to drive the turning operation P [kW], and (e) the machining time t [min].

Answer:

chip area = 6.908 mm^2

material removal rate 828.96 cm^3/min

power = 40644 kW

MACHINE TIME = 1.585 min

Explanation:

GIVEN DATA:

Length 150 mm

diameter vary from 100 to 90 mm

cutting edge angle \sigma = 0 degree

speed of cutting is v  135 m/min

feed rate fr = 0.22 min

Ks = 2300 N/mm^2

a) chip area  A = \pi (D_O -D_i) fr

                        = \pi (100-90) 0.22 = 6.908 mm^2

b) material removal rate = chip area * Vc

 Q = 6.908\times 10^{-2} \times 135 \times 100 = 828.96 cm^3/min

c) power = F* Vc

Ks = \frac{F}{\frac{\pi}{4} Do^2}

F = 2300 \times \frac{\pi}{4} 100^2 = 18064 kN

p = 18064 \times \frac{135}{60} = 40644 kW

C) Machine time[/tex] tm  = \frac{L}{fN}[/tex]

N =\frac{V}{\pi D} = \frac{135 \times 1000}{\pi \times 100} = 429.963 rpm

tm = \frac{150}{0.22 \times 430} = 1.5856 min

a wave travels at a speed of 793 m/s and has a wavelength of 2.3 meters. calculate the frequency of the wave
Savatey [412]

Answer:

344.8 Hz

Explanation:

The frequency of a wave is given by:

f=\frac{v}{\lambda}

where

v is the speed of the wave

\lambda is its wavelength

Here we have

v = 793 m/s

\lambda=2.3 m

Substituting into the equation, we find

f=\frac{793 m/s}{2.3 m}=344.8 Hz

A violin has a string of length
Shtirlitz [24]

Answer:

1.9kHz

Explanation:

Given data

wavelength \lambda= 0.32m

velocity v= 622 m/s

We know that

v= f* \lambda\\\\f= v/ \lambda

substitute

f= 622/ 0.32\\\\f= 1943.75\\\\f= 1.9kHz

Hence the frequency is 1.9kHz

Bartek w czasie 2minut przesunął ruchem jednostajnym kamień na odległość 0,5m.Oblicz moc mięśni Bartka jeśli siła oporów wynsiła
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

Bartek's muscle power = 2.667 W

Moc mięśni Bartka = 2.667 W

Explanation:

English Translation

Bartek within 2 minutes moved the stone

steadily at a distance of 0.5 m. Calculate Bartek's muscle power , if the resistance force was 640N.

The power, P, expended or generated by moving a body to move a velocity, v, against a resistive force, F is given as

P = Fv

P = ?

F = 640 N

v = velocity = (0.5) ÷ (2×60) = 0.00416667 m/s

P = 640 × 0.0041666667 = 2.667 W

In Polish/Po polsku

Moc P, zużyta lub wytworzona przez poruszanie ciałem w celu przemieszczenia prędkości v przeciwko sile oporowej, F jest podawana jako

P = Fv

P = ?

F = 640 N

v = velocity = (0.5) ÷ (2×60) = 0.00416667 m/s

P = 640 × 0.0041666667 = 2.667 W

Hope this Helps!!!
