Explanation:

Kevlar is a fiber which is used in making of bullet proof vests and armors. It is a co-polymer which is formed by condensing two organic molecules 1,4-phenylene-diamine and terephthaloyl chloride.

NH_2C_6H_4NH_2+Cl-(CO)-C_6H_4-(CO)-Cl\xrightarrow[-2HCl]{ }

                      NH_2-C_6H_4-NH-CO-C_6H_4-COOH

The condensed formula for Kevlar is attached in the image.

Further explanation:

Polymerization is a process through which monomer molecules undergo addition or condensation reaction to form a three-dimensional network structure called polymers. They are also called as macromolecules.

Monomers are defined as low molecular weight compounds that undergo reaction to form high molecular weight compounds called polymers.

Types of polymerization:

Addition polymerization is also known as chain-growth polymerization. It mainly occurs by the reaction in which a carbon-carbon double bond adds to a carbon-carbon double bond. There is no loss of small molecules in it.

Condensation reaction is a reaction where a larger molecule is formed by a reaction between two reactants by loss of small neutral molecules like {{\text{H}}_{\text{2}}}{\text{O}},{\text{N}}{{\text{H}}_3},{\text{HCl}}.

Kevlar is copolymer formed by condensation reaction between 1,4-phenylene-diamine and terephthaloyl chloride by loss of HCl molecule. It is heat resistant and strong synthetic fiber which is used in the making of bulletproof vests and armors.

The copolymerization of Kevlar occurs as follows:

 {{\text{H}}_{\text{2}}}{\text{N}}{{\text{C}}_{\text{6}}}{{\text{H}}_{\text{4}}}{\text{N}}{{\text{H}}_{\text{2}}} + {\text{Cl}} - \left( {{\text{CO}}} \right) - {{\text{C}}_{\text{6}}}{{\text{H}}_{\text{4}}} - \left( {{\text{CO}}} \right) - {\text{Cl}}\; \to \;{\text{N}}{{\text{H}}_{\text{2}}}{{\text{C}}_{\text{6}}}{{\text{H}}_{\text{4}}} - {\text{NH}} - {\text{CO}} - {{\text{C}}_{\text{6}}}{{\text{H}}_{\text{4}}}{\text{COOH}}\;{\text{ +  2HCl}}

How does water's dissolving power support life on Earth?
kozerog [31]
The dissolving power of water is very important for life on Earth. Wherever water goes, it carries dissolved chemicals, minerals, and nutrients that are used to support living things. Because of their polarity, water molecules are strongly attracted to one another, which gives water a high surface tension

2. Matt went to his friend’s party. He ate a big meal and drank a keg of beer. He felt heartburn after the meal and took Tums to
evablogger [386]

Answer:

390.85mL

Explanation:

Step 1:

Data obtained from the question.

Initial pressure (P1) = 780 torr

Initial volume (V1) = 400mL

Initial temperature (T1) = 40°C = 40°C + 273 = 313K

Final temperature (T2) = 25°C = 25°C + 273 = 298K

Final pressure (P2) = 1 atm = 760torr

Final volume (V2) =?

Step 2:

Determination of the final volume i.e the volume of the gas outside Matt's body.

The volume of the gas outside Matt's body can be obtained by using the general gas equation as shown below:

P1V1/T1 = P2V2/T2

780 x 400/313 = 760 x V2 /298

Cross multiply to express in linear form

313 x 760 x V2 = 780 x 400 x 298

Divide both side by 313 x 760

V2 = (780 x 400 x 298) /(313 x 760)

V2 = 390.85mL

Therefore, the volume of the gas outside Matt's body is 390.85mL

Is strontium phosphide a ionic or covalent bond
notka56 [123]

Answer:

Strontium is a soluble earth metal with the nuclear number 38. Phosphate is a polyatomic particle containing phosphorus and oxygen molecules. Strontium loses electrons to turn out to be emphatically charged, and phosphate is an adversely charged particle.
