Problem 1)

AC is only perpendicular to EF if angle ADE is 90 degrees

(angle ADE) + (angle DAE) + (angle AED) = 180
(angle ADE) + (44) + (48) = 180
(angle ADE) + 92 = 180
(angle ADE) + 92 - 92 = 180 - 92
angle ADE  = 88

Since angle ADE is actually 88 degrees, we do NOT have a right angle so we do NOT have a right triangle

Triangle AED is acute (all 3 angles are less than 90 degrees)

So because angle ADE is NOT 90 degrees, this means AC is NOT perpendicular to EF

-------------------------------------------------------------

Problem 2)

a) The center is (2,-3)

The center is (h,k) and we can see that h = 2 and k = -3. It might help to write (x-2)^2+(y+3)^2 = 9 into (x-2)^2+(y-(-3))^2 = 3^3 then compare it to (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2

---------------------

b) The radius is 3 and the diameter is 6

From part a), we have (x-2)^2+(y-(-3))^2 = 3^3 matching (x-h)^2 + (y-k)^2 = r^2

where
h = 2
k = -3
r = 3

so, radius = r = 3
diameter = d = 2*r = 2*3 = 6

---------------------

c) The graph is shown in the image attachment. It is a circle with center point C = (2,-3) and radius r = 3.

Some points on the circle are

A = (2, 0)
B = (5, -3)
D = (2, -6)
E = (-1, -3)

Note how the distance from the center C to some point on the circle, say point B, is 3 units. In other words segment BC = 3.

Answer:

Each point does NOT ALWAYS give the same amount of tickets.

11 point would most likely give 90 tickets.

Step-by-step explanation:

2 points give 18 tickets = 9 tickets per point

3 points give 27 tickets = 9 tickets per point

9 points give 72 tickets = 8 tickets per point

You can add the 2 point value with the 9 point values to find out many point it takes to get to 90 tickets.

18(2 tickets) + 72(9 tickets) = 90(11 tickets)

Write as many equations as possible that could represent the relationship between
IgorC [24]

Answer:

a) Here we have:

"In Family A, the youngest child is 7 years younger than the oldest, who is 18"

Let's define:

Y = age of the youngest child.

O = age of the oldest child.

Then we know that:

Y = O - 7

O = 18

Then we can replace the second equation into the first one:

Y = 18 - 7 = 11.

b) Here we have:

"In Family B, the middle child is 5 years older than the youngest child."

Let's define:

Y = age of the youngest child.

M = age of the middle child.

Here we have only one equation:

M = Y + 5.

kenny6666 [7]
<h3>Answer:   a_n = 10n+30</h3>

n starts at 1, and n is a positive whole number (1,2,3,...)

======================================================

Explanation:

The sequence is arithmetic with first term 40 and common difference 10. Meaning we add 10 to each term to get the next one.

--------

a1 = 40 = first term

d = 10 = common difference

a_n = a_1 + d(n-1)\\\\a_n = 40 + 10(n-1)\\\\a_n = 40 + 10n-10\\\\a_n = 10n + 30\\\\

is the general nth term of this arithmetic sequence

Plug in n = 1 and you should get a_1 = 40

Plug in n = 2 and you should get a_2 = 50

and so on
