The company can produce 20 desktop keyboards and 10 laptop keyboards

Step-by-step explanation:

A company manufactures keyboards for desktop and laptop computers

  • The desktop keyboard contains 105 keys
  • The laptop keyboard has 90 keys
  • The company has 3000 keys
  • The company needs to produce twice as many desktop keyboards as laptop keyboards

We need to find how much of each type the company can produce

Assume that the company can produce x desktop keyboards and

y laptop keyboards

∵ The company can produce x desktop keyboards

∵ company can produce y laptop keyboards

∵ The desktop keyboard contains 105 keys

∵ The laptop keyboard has 90 keys

∵ The company has 3000 keys

- Write an equation to represent the total keys

∴ 105 x + 90 y = 3000 ⇒ (1)

∵ The company needs to produce twice as many desktop keyboards

   as laptop keyboards

∴ x = 2 y ⇒ (2)

Substitute x in equation (1) by equation (2)

∵ 105(2 y) + 90 y = 3000

∴ 210 y + 90 y = 3000

∴ 300 y = 3000

- Divide both sides by 300

∴ y = 10

∴ The company can produce 10 laptop keyboards

Substitute the value of y in equation (2) to find the value of x

∵ x = 2(10)

∴ x = 20

∴ The company can produce 20 desktop keyboards

The company can produce 20 desktop keyboards and 10 laptop keyboards

Complete the frequency table:
Gala2k [10]

The percentage of students age 15 and above travel to school by bus is 47%

<h3>How to complete the table?</h3>

The table of values is given as:

                     Method of Travel to School

                            Walk/Bike    Bus    Car Row totals

Under age 15                            18                 165

Age 15 and above    65                                 195

Column totals          152          110        98      360

Using the column total of column 1, we have:

Under age 15 + 65 = 152

This gives

Under age 15 = 87

Using the column total of column 2, we have:

Age 15 and above + 18 = 110

This gives

Age 15 and above  = 92

Using the row total of row 1, we have:

Car + 87 + 18 = 165

This gives

Car = 60

Using the row total of row 2, we have:

Car + 65 + 92 = 195

This gives

Car = 38

So, the complete frequency table is

                     Method of Travel to School

                            Walk/Bike    Bus    Car Row totals

Under age 15           87              18      60        165

Age 15 and above    65          92        38        195

Column totals          152          110        98      360

The percentage of students age 15 and above travel to school by bus is:

Percentage = 92/195 * 100%

This gives

Percentage = 47%

What is the standard form of the linear function that passes
babunello [35]

standard form for a linear equation means

• all coefficients must be integers, no fractions

• only the constant on the right-hand-side

• all variables on the left-hand-side, sorted

• "x" must not have a negative coefficient

(\stackrel{x_1}{4}~,~\stackrel{y_1}{1})\qquad (\stackrel{x_2}{2}~,~\stackrel{y_2}{-2}) ~\hfill \stackrel{slope}{m}\implies \cfrac{\stackrel{rise} {\stackrel{y_2}{-2}-\stackrel{y1}{1}}}{\underset{run} {\underset{x_2}{2}-\underset{x_1}{4}}}\implies \cfrac{-3}{-2}\implies \cfrac{3}{2} \\\\\\ \begin{array}{|c|ll} \cline{1-1} \textit{point-slope form}\\ \cline{1-1} \\ y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\\\ \cline{1-1} \end{array}\implies y-\stackrel{y_1}{1}=\stackrel{m}{\cfrac{3}{2}}(x-\stackrel{x_1}{4})

\stackrel{\textit{multiplying both sides by }\stackrel{LCD}{2}}{2(y-1)=2\left( \cfrac{3}{2}(x-4) \right)}\implies 2y-2 = 3(x-4)\implies 2y-2=3x-12 \\\\\\ -3x+2y-2=-12\implies -3x+2y=-10\implies \stackrel{\times -1\textit{ to both sides}}{3x-2y=10}
