Would sound travel faster at the north pole or in the sahara desert? Explain ur answer

Physics
1 answer:

Sound needs a medium to propagate through and this medium which is moves through is the air. The colder the temperature is, the less excited (meaning kinetic energy) the air particles will be meaning that the sound wave will travel slower. In the sahara desert, since the temperatures are warmer, and more excited, the sound will propagate faster through the air.

*Note that sound waves rely on vibration to move and if the air is hotter the molecules in the air are vibrate more than compared to lower temperatures.

A proton has been accelerated from rest through a potential difference of -1000 v . part a what is the proton's kinetic energy,
wlad13 [49]
We can apply the law of conservation of energy here. The total energy of the proton must remain constant, so the sum of the variation of electric potential energy and of kinetic energy of the proton must be zero:
\Delta U + \Delta K=0
which means
\Delta K = - \Delta U
The variation of electric potential energy is equal to the product between the charge of the proton (q=1eV) and the potential difference (\Delta V=-1000 V):
\Delta U = q \Delta V=(1 eV)(-1000 V)=-1000 eV
Therefore, the kinetic energy gained by the proton is
\Delta K = -(-1000 eV)=1000 eV
And since the initial kinetic energy of the proton was zero (it started from rest), then this 1000 eV corresponds to the final kinetic energy of the proton.

A _____________ is a system that uses vertical posts which are separated to support a horizontal beam. A. Truss c. Post-and-lint
IgorC [24]

A Post-and-lintel is a system that uses vertical posts which are separated to

support a horizontal beam.

A Post-and-lintel system is commonly used in architecture and involves the

system where horizontal structures are held by vertical ones with the

presence of spaces between them.

In this scenario, we were told the system uses vertical posts which are

separated to support a horizontal beam which makes Post-and-lintel the

most appropriate choice.

MissTica
The correct answer to this question is C - Gravity is a force. Gravity is also an example of a universal law. Well, according to Isaac Newton, anyway. According to Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation, 'every point mass attracts every single point mass by a force pointing along the line intersecting both paths.'
