A tightrope walker walks across a 30 m long wire tied between two poles. The center of the wire is displaced vertically downward

by 1.0 m when he is halfway across. If the tension in both halves of the wire at this point is 6250 N what is the mass of the tightrope walker?

Answer:

m = 84.66 kg

Explanation:

given,

tightrope walker across = 30 m

displacement vertically downward = 1 m

force at center = 6250 N

tan \theta = \dfrac{1}{15}

\theta = tan{-1}{\dfrac{1}{15}

\theta = 3.81^0

2Tsin\theta =mg

m = \dfrac{2\times 6250\times sin 3.81^0}{9.8}

m = 84.66 kg

hence, the mass of the tightrope walker m = 84.66 kg

What are laws of newton
Black_prince [1.1K]

Answer:

In the first law, an object will not change its motion unless a force acts on it. In the second law, the force on an object is equal to its mass times its acceleration. In the third law, when two objects interact, they apply forces to each other of equal magnitude and opposite direction

A powerful motorcycle can produce an acceleration of 3.00 m/s2 while traveling at 90.0 km/h. At that speed the forces resisting
nata0808 [166]

Answer:

1185 N

Explanation:

From Newton’s second law of motion,

F=ma where m= mass of motorcycle, a is acceleration of the motorcycle and F=Force

Net force acting on motorcycle F_{net} is given by  F_{net}=F-f

Where F is force acting on motorcycle and f is frictional force

Substituting F-f for F_{net}

F_{net}=ma hence  ma= F- f Substituting a with 3, m with 245Kg and f with 450N as provided

245*3= F- 450

F=245*3 +450= 1185 N

A long wire carries a current toward the north in a magnetic field that is directed vertically downward perpendicular to the sur
xenn [34]

The direction of the magnetic force on the wire is west.

The magnetic force acting on the moving protons acts northward in the horizontal plane. If the thumb is up (current flows vertically up), the wrapped finger will be counterclockwise.

Therefore, the direction of the magnetic field is counterclockwise. Here, the magnetic field is pointing upwards (vertical magnetic field) and the electrons are moving east. Applying Fleming's left-hand rule here, we can see that the direction of force is along the south direction.

As the change in magnetic flux increases upwards, Lenz's law indicates that the induced magnetic field of the induced current must resist and the inside of the loop must be directed downwards. Using the right-hand rule, we can see that a clockwise current is induced.
