Answer:

Explanation:

We shall apply Pascal's law here to find the solution .According to this law if we apply a pressure on a particular area over an in-compressible liquid it gets transferred to other point inside or over the surface of the liquid without getting diminished.

in the present case force is applied on a car to crush it which is enormous in magnitude. This force is 20000 N, which is also called output force  Let the surface on which car is placed be A₂. We apply input force F₁ at other point over a small area be it A₁.

According to Pascal law ,

20000/ A₂ = F₁ / A₁

F₁ = 20000 X (A₁ / A₂)

= 20000 X 1/8

= 2500 N.

a block initially at rest has a mass m and sits on a plane incline at angle. it slides a distance d before hitting a spring and
KiRa [710]

Answer:

k = \frac{2\cdot m \cdot g \cdot (d+x_{f})\cdot (\sin \theta - \mu_{k}\cdot \cos \theta)}{x_{f}^{2}}

Explanation:

Let assume that spring reaches its maximum compression at a height of zero. The system is modelled after the Principle of Energy Conservation and the Work-Energy Theorem:

U_{g,A}=U_{k,B} + W_{f}

m\cdot g \cdot (d + x_{f})\cdot \sin \theta = \frac{1}{2}\cdot k \cdot x_{f}^{2}+\mu_{k}\cdot m \cdot g \cdot (d+x_{f})\cdot \cos \theta

m\cdot g \cdot (d + x_{f})\cdot (\sin \theta-\mu_{k}\cdot \cos \theta) = \frac{1}{2}\cdot k \cdot x_{f}^{2}

The spring constant is cleared in the expression described above:

k = \frac{2\cdot m \cdot g \cdot (d+x_{f})\cdot (\sin \theta - \mu_{k}\cdot \cos \theta)}{x_{f}^{2}}

diamong [38]

C) accretionary-wedge complex.

Explanation:

The accretionary wedge complex is a thick accumulation of sediments and small tectonic blocks formed from materials scraped off subducting oceanic lithosphere at a convergent margin.

Space between the subducting plate and the less dense plate gets filled by sediments scraped off the subducting plate and this forms a wedge like sediment called the accretionary wedge.

  • The accretionary wedge is invariably made up of materials found on the ocean floor.
  • Under extreme conditions, some parts of wedge transforms into metamorphic rocks.
  • The wedge is made up of: pelagic sediments, ocean floor basalts e.t.c

A 200 N trash can is pulled across the sidewalk by a person at constant speed by a force of 75 N. What is the coefficient of fri
Pavel [41]

Answer:

μ = 0.375

Explanation:

F = Applied force on the trash can = 75 N

W = weight of the trash can = 200 N

f = frictional force acting on trash can

Since the trash can moves at constant speed, force equation for the motion of can is given as

F - f = 0

75 - f = 0

f = 75 N

μ = Coefficient of friction

frictional force is given as

f = μ W

75 = μ (200)

μ = 0.375
