In this question, you are asked how much the maximum revenue. Since candy Y sold for a higher price than candy X, that means you have to sell candy Y as much as possible.
The number of candy Y must be >= 3 times candy X. Since this won't limit candy Y selling, then you can convert all 36 candy into candy Y and 0 candy X

36 candy (Y) >= 0 candy(X) ----> the requirement is met.

<span>The revenue would be 36 candy Y * $3/candy Y= $108</span>

Mr. Miller has a 20-foot ladder, which he
dimulka [17.4K]

Answer:

8 ft

Step-by-step explanation:

the ladder will make a right angle triangle with the house. The hypotenuse of the triangle is the ladder, 20 ft, and the height of the triagnle is 18 ft.

Solve for the base of the right angle triangle using pythagorean's theorem:

c=20, a=18, b=?

b^{2}=c^{2} - a^{2}\\b^{2}=20^{2} - 18^{2}

b=\sqrt{72}

b= 8.49 ft

round to the nearest foot,

b = 8 ft

A factory produces 3/4 of a mile of thread every 1/4 of an hour. What is the unit rate of miles of thread per hour?
marissa [1.9K]
Isn’t this 12/4 of a mile of thread every hour? If the factory produces 3/4 of a mile of thread every 1/4 of an hour, then all you need to do is 3/4 x 4. 1/4 is like .25 so to make a whole number, you have to do .25 x4 which makes the whole. I don’t know if my explanation is correct or not but I do believe my answer is. (12/4 is 3)

Simplify the expression. Write the answer using scientific notation.
erik [133]
The answer is 5.88 x 10^22 because when you move your decimal point (which should be placed in between 5 and 8) to the right it turns 58800000000000 into 5.88. Then you count the numbers after the decimal which gives you 12.
( I’m pretty sure I made no sense, but hopefully it helped !! )

A ship travels 200 miles due west, then adjusts its course 30° north of west. The ship continues on this course for 30 miles. Ap
Marta_Voda [28]

Answer:

174.66\ mi  or 175\ mi

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

Applying the law of cosines

c^{2}=a^{2}+b^{2}-2(a)(b)cos(C)

In this problem we have

a=200\ mi

b=30\ mi

C=30\°

substitute the values

c^{2}=200^{2}+30^{2}-2(200)(30)cos(30\°)

c^{2}=30,507.695

c=174.66\ mi
