Answer: The Weight of the dog is 392 N.

Explanation:

Acceleration due to gravity ,(g): 9.80m/s^2

Mass of the dog,(m) = 40 Kg

Weight is measure of force exerted by gravity on the object. Its S.I units are Newtons (kg\times m/s^2)

Weight= mass × g

40\times 9.80m/s^2=392 N

Hence, the weight of the dog is 392 N.

Weight = mass * acceleration

W = 40*9.8

= 392N

soaps do not work well in hard waters. But they can still be effected it large quantities of soap are added to water. Explain wh
Nookie1986 [14]

They can still be effected it large quantities of soap are added to water

because more soap eliminates the effect the minerals in hard water has on

its cleaning capacity.

Hard water contains minerals such as

 • Calcium
 • Magnesium
 • Iron etc.

They reduce the cleaning capacity of the soap. This is why soft water is

preferably used as it doesn't contain these minerals.

When more soap is added, the effect of the minerals reduces thereby

bringing about very little or no effect on the cleaning capacity of the soap.

Which of the following would be classified as an acid to the Arrhenius definition
mixer [17]

Any substance that increases the concentration of H^+ in aqueous solutions is Arrhenius's acid.

What are Arrhenius acids?

Arrhenius define acids as substances with the chemical capacities to increase the concentration of hydrogen ion in aqueous solutions.

Thus, substances like HCl, HNO3, HBr, etc. would be considered an acid. This is because they ionize in aqueous solutions as follows:

HCl ---> H^+ + Cl^-

HNO_3 --- > H^+ + NO_3^-

HBr --- > H^+ + Br^-
