Patrick is repairing the roof on his house. He uses a hammer having a mass of 1 kilogram. While working at the apex of the roof,
pav-90 [236]

Answer:

72 joules

Explanation:

The potential energy of that hammer is a function of its displacement against gravity. Considering that it fell with a velocity of 12 m/s, it was its displacement against gravity that gave it this velocity. It will continue to move until its displacement to gravity is zero.

since the body is in motion; it has converted its potential energy (mgh, m is mass, g is acceleration due to gravity, and h is the height) to kinetic energy (energy due to motion, 1/2mv^2; m = mass, v = velocity or speed)

therefore the potential energy is equal to kinetic energy

mgh = 1/2mv^2 = 1/2 *1kg* 12*12 = 72 joules.

How do the Sun, Earth, and Moon systems interact
Nataly [62]

The sun is the mother star of the solar system, which only emits light to half of the planet, while the other part is always dark.

The sun emits light towards the earth, which dominates all life on earth. The movements of the Moon around the Earth and of the Earth around the Sun are complex. Movements of rotation around their own axes are superimposed on movements of orbital translation. The Earth and the Moon rotate around their own axes: This is rotation.

Estimate the smallest possible period of a satellite in a circular orbit around earth. (mass and radius of earth is 5.98 x 1024
myrzilka [38]
Given: Mass of earth Me = 5.98 x 10²⁴ Kg

           Radius of earth r = 6.37 x 10⁶ m

            G = 6.67 x 10⁻¹¹ N.m²/Kg²

Required: Smallest possible period T = ?

Formula: F = ma;  F = GMeMsat/r²     Centripetal acceleration ac = V²/r

               but V = 2πr/T

equate T from all equation.

F = ma

GMeMsat/r² = Msat4π²/rT²

GMe = 4π²r³/T²

T² = 4π²r³/GMe

T² = 39.48(6.37 x 10⁶ m)³/6.67 x 10⁻¹¹ N.m²/Kg²)(5.98 x 10²⁴ Kg)

T² = 1.02 x 10²² m³/3.99 x 10¹⁴ m³/s²

T² = 25,563,909.77 s²

T = 5,056.08 seconds    or around   1.4 Hour

How is it possible for a single sedimentary rock to contain rock particles animal shells and minerals that crystallized from wat
shutvik [7]
"Sedimentary rocks are types of rock that are formed by the deposition of material at the Earth's surface and within bodies of water. Sedimentation is the collective name for processes that cause mineral and/or organic particles (detritus) to settle and accumulate or minerals to precipitate from a solution."
