If water is evaported the effects to acidifying layers

NaOH and p-t-butyl phenol form in the form of solid. The main objective is to get parts of mixture as p-toluic acid, p-t-butylphenol, and acetanilide. The first thing that we obtained was p-toluic acid and we accomplished this by first scoring approximately 1.5 grams of resulted fluid to 25 milliliters of t-butyl methyl ether.

When this solution is dissolved it was combined with a 125-milliliter separatory tube. Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) was summed to the separatory funnel and it was changed and moved. Such a process was redone till no carbon dioxide fled the tube when the stopcock was removed.

The product that you obtain if you evaporate the water from the NaoH layer prior to acidifying the layer is salt of para - tery-butyphenol

Explanation

  • Para-tery-butyphenol can be isolate after extracting it into NaOH solution through carrying out
  1.  heating  and  then cooling,
  2. then 3M of HCl is added to acidify.
  3. Then ice bath is done if needed
  4. finally the precipitate is filtered.
  • Para tery butyphenol can be used for production of alkylphenolic.

How many grams of \text{NaCl}NaClstart text, N, a, C, l, end text will be produced from 18.0 \text{ g}18.0 g18, point, 0, start
Nezavi [6.7K]

Answer:

18.7887 g of NaCl

Explanation:

The question reads - How many grams of NaCl will be produced from 18.0 g of Na and 23.0 g of Cl2?

Let us start by writing out the balanced equation of the reaction:

Na + Cl2 ---> NaCl2

1 mole, each of Na and Cl2 is required to produce 1 mole of NaCl.

mole = mass/molar mass

Therefore

18 g of Na = 18/23 = 0.7826 mole

23 g of Cl2 = 23/71 = 0.3239 mole

In this case, the Na is in excess and the Cl2 becomes the limiting reagent. Hence

0.3239 mole of Cl2 will react with 0.3239 mole of Na to yield 0.3239 mole of NaCl.

mass of 0.3239 mole NaCl = 0.3239 x 58 = 18.7887 g

Hence, 18.7887 grams of NaCl will be produced from 18.0 g of Na and 23.0 g of Cl2.

Determining Molar Mass
alisha [4.7K]

The molar mass of the following compounds in two decimal places are as follows:

  • NH3: 17.04 g/mol
  • Mg(OH)2: 58.33 g/mol
  • Fe2O3: 159.70 g/mol

MOLAR MASS:

The molar mass of a compound is the sum of all the atomic masses of the elements that constitutes the compound.

According to this question, three compounds were given as follows: NH3, Mg(OH)2 and Fe2O3.

The atomic mass of the elements in this compounds are as follows:

  • N = 14
  • H = 1
  • Mg = 24
  • O = 16
  • Fe = 56

  1. The molar mass of NH3 = 14 + 3 = 17g/mol
  2. The molar mass of Mg(OH)2 = 24 + 32 + 2 = 58g/mol
  3. The molar mass of Fe2O3 = 56(2) + 16(3) = 160g/mol

Ethanol has a Kb of 1.22 °C/m and usually boils at 78.4 °C. How many mol of an nonionizing solute would need to be added to 48.8
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

0.272 mol

Explanation:

∆Tb = m × Kb

∆Tb = 85.2°C - 78.4°C = 6.8°C

Kb = 1.22°C/m

mass of ethanol = 48.80 g = 48.80/1000 = 0.0488 kg

Let the moles of non-ionizing solute be y

m (molality) = y/0.0488

6.8 = y/0.0488 × 1.22

y = 6.8×0.0488/1.22 = 0.272 mol
