Why is it important to protect Earth’s water, land, and air resources?

Water - water is not ever-lasting. Once we consume all the water, there wont be water, and that means there wont be life. Also, if we sum up the wasted water plus the contaminated water, we get a scary amount of water that isn´t being used properly or at all.

Land - land is also a basic need in our lives. We all now that there are alternative solutions to planting on land such as hydroponics, but they don´t work the same. In order to have plants (food), we need to have good and well-took-care-of land.

Air - we need air to breathe, preferably quality air. If we pollute the air we have, we´re damaging a very important resource, plus, if we cut too many trees like we do now, we´re only making things worse.

Hope it helped,

Gases are very easy to compress. The best explanation for this is that
Simora [160]

Answer: gaseous molecules are far apart

Explanation:

One of the states in which matter exists is gas. Gases are made of up molecules that are far apart, travelling randomly and rapidly within the containing vessel.

Hence, they are easy to compress whereby they occupy limited space as the gaseous molecules are closely packed in vessels like cylinders and transported to places where they may be needed.

Anh measured the temperature of a pond near his house. Before he left for school, the water in the pond was 18 degrees celsius.
Hitman42 [59]

As the temperature increases, B) the molecules started moving faster.

Explanation:

The temperature of a substance is a measure of the average kinetic energy of the particles in a substance. In particular, it can be found that the temperature is directly proportional to the average kinetic energy of the particles:

T\propto KE

The kinetic energy of a particle is given by

KE=\frac{1}{2}mv^2

where

m is the mass of the particle

v is its speed

This means that the higher the temperature of a substance, the greater the speed of the particles in the substance.

Therefore, if we apply this concept to this problem, we infer that as the temperature of the water in the pond gets higher, the speed of the molecules inside the water increases, which means that the molecules are moving faster.

Therefore, the correct answer is

B) the molecules started moving faster.

Air is a solution and a mixture of gases, what is the solvent in the solution we call air?
MariettaO [177]

Answer:

c. nitrogen gas

Explanation:

Our air is a homogeneous mixture of many different gases and therefore qualifies as a solution. Approximately 78% of the atmosphere is nitrogen, making it the solvent for this solution.
