The volume of a rectangular box is found by multiplying its length, width, and height: V = lwh. A certain box has a volume of b

3 + 3b 2 - 4b - 12. Factor the four-term polynomial to find the dimensions of the box. Hint: Use factoring by grouping to factor the four term polynomial first.

Answer:

The dimensions of the box are (b+3), (b-2) and (b+2).

Step-by-step explanation:

The volume of a rectangular box is

V=l\times w\times h

The volume of a certain box is

V=b^3+3b^2-4b-12

First of all find the factors of above expression by grouping method.

V=b^2(b+3)-4(b+3)

V=(b+3)(b^2-4)

V=(b+3)(b^2-2^2)

V=(b+3)(b-2)(b+2)                 [\because a^2-b^2=(a+b)(a-b)]

Volume of a rectangle is the product of its dimensions, therefore the dimensions of the box are (b+3), (b-2) and (b+2).

Liquid A and liquid B are mixed to make liquid C.
natta225 [31]

Answer:

Density is defined as:

Density = mass/volume.

We know that:

For liquid A:

Density = 70kg/m^3

Mass = 1400kg

Then the volume is:

Volume = mass/density = (1400kg)/(70kg/m^3) = 20 m^3

For liquid B:

Density = 280 kg/m^3

Volume = 30m^3

We can find the mass of liquid B as:

mass = density*volume = (280kg/m^3)*(30m^3) = 8400 kg

We know that liquid C is a mixture of liquid A and B.

Then the mass of liquid C will be equal to the sum of the masses of liquid A and B, then:

Mass of liquid C = 1400kg + 8400kg = 9800kg

The same happens for the volume, then:

Volume of liquid C = 30m^3 + 20m^3 = 50m^3

Then the density of liquid C is:

Density of liquid C = (9800kg)/(50m^3) = 196 kg/m^3

Find all solutions in the interval [0, 2π).
jekas [21]
First you must know that for remarkable angles: cos (0) = 1, cos (π) = - 1, cos (π / 2) = 0, cos (3π / 2) = 0, cos (2π) = 1. Then, by simple substitution in the given formula, you can find the solutions of x. Which for the interval [0, 2π) are: x = π, x = pi divided by two and x = three pi divided by two.Attached solution.

melomori [17]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

product means to multiply, hence the product of 12 and k is

12 × k = 12k ( this is 84 means equal to 84 ), that is

12k = 84 ( divide both sides by 12 )

k = 7 ← is the solution
