<span>The correct answer is D. The placenta remains intact. Stage three is actually the final stage in which the placenta is delivered. It can happen 5-30 minutes after childbirth which occurs at stage 2. After stage three is completed, thee mother is monitored and the child birth process is over. A woman will keep on bleeding but there's nothing abnormal about that, as long as the bleeding is not causing issues or is not happening more than normal.</span>
