By applying Newton's second law of motion;

ma = mg - T

Where,
m = mass; a = downward accelerations (+ve value) or upward acceleration (-ve value); g = gravitational acceleration; T = tension.

For the current case, the velocity is constant therefore,
a = 0

Then,
0 = mg - T
T = mg = 115*9.81 = 1128.15 N

Tension in the cable is 1128.15 N.

Find the tension in the two ropes that are holding the 2.9 kg object in place. Rope 1 makes an angle of 51.3° with respect to th
Gnesinka [82]

Answer:

Explanation:

Let the tension in horizontal rope be T₁ and in the other rope be T₂ which is making angle of 51.3⁰

The vertical component of tension T₂ will balance the weight .

= T₂ cos 51.3 = 2.9 x 9.8

T₂ = 2.9 x 9.8  / cos 51.3

= 28.42 / .625

= 45.47 N

The horizontal component of T₂ will balance T₁

T₂ sin 51.3 = T₁

45.47 sin 51.3 = T₁

T₁ = 35.48 N .

Which factors affect the speed of sound? type and volume of medium temperature and type of medium volume and temperature of medi
rusak2 [61]
<h3><u>Answer;</u></h3>

temperature and type of medium

<h3><u>Explanation;</u></h3>
  • <em><u>The speed of sound depends on the elasticity and density of the medium through which it is traveling</u></em>. That is sound travels faster in liquids than in gases and faster in solids than in liquids. The greater the elasticity and the lower the density, the faster sound travels in a medium.
  • <em><u>The speed of sound also depends on temperature.</u></em> Molecules at higher temperatures have more energy, thus they can vibrate faster. Since the molecules vibrate faster, sound waves can travel more quickly.

sam can study for hours even though it is very loud and there are many possible distractions in the common room. this is an exam
Nostrana [21]

Sam can study for hours even though it is very loud and there are many possible distractions in the common room, this is an example of a Focus system.

The focus system is a psychological intervention that is purposely designed for use at home or in lecture halls for cognitive or mental assimilation.

When the focus system takes place, an individual is able to further activate the brain networks to engage in more challenging cognitive activities despite the music, distractions, or noise from the background.

From the information given, the ability for Sam to study for hours even though it is very loud was his ability to activate his Focus System.

3. If a bullet having the mass of 50 g is fired at the velocity of 200km per hour, how much
3241004551 [841]

Answer:

77.3J

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of the bullet  = 50g  = 0.05kg

Velocity of the bullet  = 200km/hr

Unknown:

Kinetic energy of the bullet  = ?

Solution:

Kinetic energy is the energy due to motion of a body.

It is mathematically expressed as;

        K.E  = \frac{1}{2} m v²

m is the mass

v is the velocity

 we need to convert the velocity to m/s

  200km/hr is 55.6m/s

Input the parameters and solve;

 K.E = \frac{1}{2} x 0.05 x 55.6²  = 77.3J

If the y component of a vector is 36, and the angle between the vector and the x-axis is 27, what is the magnitude of the vector
statuscvo [17]

Answer:

79.29

Explanation:

Given that,

The y component of a vector, y = 36

The angle between the vector and the x-axis is 27.

We need to find the magnitude of a vector.

Let a and b are x and y component of a vector m. There resultant is R. So,

R=\sqrt{a^2+b^2}

Where

a=c\cos\theta\ \text{and}\ b=c\sin\theta

We have, b = 36 and θ = 27°

So,

36=R\sin\theta\\\\R=\dfrac{36}{\sin\theta}\\\\R=\dfrac{36}{\sin(27)}\\R=79.29

So, the magnitude of the vector is 79.29
