1. Leslie could have used many fractions that in more than 1/2 and less than 1 whole cup but my first answer would be 3/4 because it is 1/4 greater than 1/2 and 1/4 less than a whole cup.
2. The fractions that are greater than 3/5 is 5/3 and 6/6
3. 4/5=9/10 so that means that the 9/10in grasshopper is bigger than the 7/10in grasshopper

stepan [7]

Answer:

B) -3                                 (Sorry if its overwhelming)

Explanation:

First, we have the given information of the weather over a <em>2</em> and <em>1/5</em> <em>span</em>

And we are asked to find the change per hour

We can first start by finding the <em>change</em> for 2 and 1/5 hours:

- Subtract the first amount by the second amount.

= (-6 3/5) - 0

= (-6 3/5) + 0

= -6 3/5

Now that we have the change for <em>2 and 1/5 hours</em> we must find the <em>change</em> per hour:

- Divide the given dividend by the given divisor

= -6 3/5 ÷ 2 1/5

= -3

Hence, the temperature <em>change per hour</em> over a 2 1/5 hour span is -3° per hour

Find dy/dx by implicit differentiation. y cos x = 5x2 + 3y2
lbvjy [14]
Step 1:
Start by putting \frac{d}{dx} in front of each term

\frac{d}{dx}[y cos x]= \frac{d}{dx}[5x^2]+ \frac{d}{dx}[ 3y^2]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 2:

Deal with the terms in 'x' and the constant terms
\frac{d}{dx}[ycosx]= 10x+ \frac{d}{dx} [3y^2]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 3:

Use the chain rule for the terms in 'y'
\frac{d}{dx}[ycosx]=10x+6y \frac{dy}{dx}
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 4:

Use the product rule on the term in 'x' and 'y'
(y) \frac{d}{dx} cos x+(cos x) \frac{d}{dx}y =10x+6y \frac{dy}{dx}&#10;
y(-siny)+(cosx) \frac{dy}{dx} =10x+6y \frac{dy}{dx}
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 5:

Rearrange to make \frac{dy}{dx} the subject
-y sin(y)+cos(x) \frac{dy}{dx} =10x+6y \frac{dy}{dx}
cos(x)  \frac{dy}{dx}-6y \frac{dy}{dx}=10x+y sin(y)
[cos(x) - 6y]  \frac{dy}{dx}=10x + y sin(y)
\frac{dy}{dx}= \frac{10x+ysin(y)}{cos(x)-6y} ⇒ Final Answer

thirteen of 50 states in the united states do not touch the ocean. write 13/50 as a decimal and percent
SOVA2 [1]
To find decimal, divide 13/50= 0.26

To find percent divide decimal above by 100 (or move decimal place to the right two places).

0.26/100= 26%

Hope this helps! :)

A particular sawdust pile has a base diameter of 25 feet when the height is 20 feet. Find the volume of this sawdust pile when i
Artist 52 [7]

The volume of the sawdust pile is 11,039.06 ft³.

<h3>What is the volume of the pile?
</h3>

The shape of the sawdust pile would be a cone. The diameter is always proportional to its height.

Diameter = k x height

where k is equivalent to the rate of increase of the diameter with respect to the increase in height.

25= k20

k = 25 / 20

k = 1.25

Diameter when height is 30 ft = 1.25x 30 = 35.50 feet

Volume of the sawdust = \frac{1}{3}πr²h

Where:

  • π = 3.14
  • r = radius = diameter / 2 = 35.50 / 2 = 18.75
  • h = 30

\frac{1}{3} x 3.14 x 18.75² x 30 = 11,039.06 ft³
