An air bubble released by a remotely operated underwater vehicle, 120 m below the surface of a lake, has a volume of 1.40 cm3. T

he surface of the lake is at sea level, and the density of the lake water can be approximated as that of pure water. As the bubble rises to the surface, the temperature of the water and the number of air molecules in the bubble can each be approximated as constant. Find the volume (in cm3) of the bubble just before it pops at the surface of the lake.

Answer:

17.7 cm^3

Explanation:

depth, h = 120 m

density of water, d = 1000 kg/m^3

V1 = 1.4 cm^3

P1 = P0 + h x d x g

P2 = P0

where, P0 be the atmospheric pressure

Let V2 be the volume of the bubble at the surface of water.

P0 = 1.01 x 10^5 Pa

P1 = 1.01 x 10^5 + 120 x 1000 x 9.8 = 12.77 x 10^5 Pa

Use

P1 x V1 = P2 x V2

12.77 x 10^5 x 1.4 = 1.01 x 10^5 x V2

V2 = 17.7 cm^3

Thus, the volume of bubble at the surface of water is 17.7 cm^3.

a pitcher throws a 0.35 kg ball, giving it an acceleration of 10.0 m/s. what would the acceleration be, if the pitcher threw the
german

Answer:

New acceleration is 20.0 m/s².

Explanation:

F = m*a

F = 0.35 kg * 10.0m/s²

If Force will be doubled , and mass will be the same

we can write

2F = 2*0.35 kg*10.0 m/s²=0.35kg*20.0m/s²

New acceleration is 20.0 m/s².

What is the moment of inertia of an object that rolls without slipping down a 3.5-m- high incline starting from rest, and has a
Daniel [21]

Answer:

I = 0.287 MR²

Explanation:

given,

height of the object = 3.5 m

initial velocity = 0 m/s

final velocity  = 7.3 m/s

moment of inertia = ?

Using total conservation of mechanical energy

change in potential energy will be equal to change in KE (rotational) and KE(transnational)

PE = KE(transnational) + KE (rotational)

mgh = \dfrac{1}{2}mv^2 + \dfrac{1}{2}I\omega^2

v = r ω

mgh = \dfrac{1}{2}mv^2 + \dfrac{1}{2}\dfrac{Iv^2}{r^2}

I = \dfrac{m(2gh - v^2)r^2}{v^2}

I = \dfrac{mr^2(2\times 9.8 \times 3.5 - 7.3^2)}{7.3^2}

I =mr^2(0.287)

I = 0.287 MR²

An auto race takes place on a circular track. A car completes one lap in a time of 25.0 s, with an average tangential speed of 5
ludmilkaskok [199]

Answer:

(a) Angular speed will be 0.2512 rad/sec

(b) Radius will be 213.375 m

Explanation:

We have given time to complete 1 lap = 25 sec

We know that 1 lap = 2\pi radian

(a) So angular speed =\frac{2\pi }{25}=\frac{2\times 3.14}{25}=0.2512rad/sec

(B) Tangential velocity is given as v = 53.6 m/sec

We know that tangential velocity is given by

v=\omega r

So radius r=\frac{v}{\omega }=\frac{53.6}{0.2512}=213.375m
