➷ The formula to calculate the circumference is \pi d

d is the diameter (double the radius)

Circumference = (3.14)(3 x 2)

Circumference = 18.84

It would be option D. 18.84 m

A quadratic function is given. f(x) = 1 + x − 7 x2 (a) Use a graphing device to find the maximum or minimum value of the quadrat
Virty [35]

Answer:

a) P (x,y) \approx (0.1,1.05), b) P(x,y) = (0.07,1.04).

Step-by-step explanation:

a) The graphic is enclosed to the problem. By visual inspection, an absolute maximum is found.

P (x,y) \approx (0.1,1.05)

b) The exact method consists in the application of the First and Second Derivative Tests. First and second derivatives are, respectively:

f'(x) = 1 - 14\cdot x

f''(x) = -14

The First Derivative Test consists in equalizing the first derivative to zero and solving the expression:

1 - 14\cdot x = 0

x = 0.07

According to the second derivative, the critical point leads to a maximum. The remaining component is determined by evaluation the polynomial:

y = 1 +0.07-7\cdot (0.07)^{2}

y = 1.04

The exact solution is P(x,y) = (0.07,1.04), indicating that graphic solution leads to a good approximation.

According to Greg himself (probably a master at pies) says perfect cherry pies have a ratio of 240 cherries to 3 pies. First, we need to divide 240 cherries by 3 pies to find out how many cherries are in one pie.

240 / 3 = 80

Then multiply by 9 to get your answer.

9 * 80 = 720

Adult tickets to a play cost $1.75 each and student tickets cost $1.25 each. Suppose there are twice as many student tickets sol
nikitadnepr [17]

Answer: the number of adult tickets sold is 400

the number of student tickets sold is 200

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x represent the number of adult tickets sold at the play.

Let y represent the number of student tickets sold at the play.

Adult tickets to a play cost $1.75 each and student tickets cost $1.25 each. If the income from the play was $1,700, it means that

1.75x + 1.25y = 1700 - - - - - - - - - -1

Suppose there are twice as many student tickets sold as adult tickets. This means that

y = 2x

Substituting y = 2x into equation 1, it becomes

1.75x + 1.25 × 2x = 1700= 1700

1.75y + 2.5y = 1700

4.25y = 1700

y = 1700/4.25 = 400

x = y/2 = 400/2 = 200
