Answer:

Equation: P = 10n

P = 40 when n = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Direct Variation: P ∝ n

When n = 15, P = 150

Required

Determine the equation

Her earnings if she sold 4 necklaces

P ∝ n

Convert variation to equation

P = kn

When P = 150, n = 15 (Substitute these values in the given equation)

150 = k * 15

Divide both sides by 15

\frac{150}{15} = \frac{k * 15}{15}

10 = k\\k = 10

Substitute k = 10 in P = kn

P = 10 * n

P = 10n ------- Equation that relates P and n

When she sold 4 necklaces, n = 4

Substitute n = 4 in the formula above

P = 10 * 4

P = 40

Which line best represents the line of best fit for this scatter plot?
fgiga [73]

Answer:

Line R

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

A<u><em> line of best fit</em></u>  is a straight line that best represents the data on a scatter plot.

This line may pass through some of the points, none of the points, or all of the points.

From the given graph the line R passes through 2 points. The number of points above the line is equal to the number of points below the line.

therefore

Line R is the line of best fit

Option C:

It is  \frac{1}{3} throughout the line.

Solution:

Point on the larger shaded triangle are (0, 0) and (–6, –2).

Point on the smaller shaded triangle are (–6, –2) and (–9, –3).

Slope of the line:

 $m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}

Slope of the larger triangle:

Here,  x_{1}=0, y_{1}=0, x_{2}=-6, y_{2}=-2

 $m=\frac{-2-0}{-6-0}

 $m=\frac{-2}{-6}

 $m=\frac{1}{3}

Slope of the smaller triangle:

Here,  x_{1}=-6, y_{1}=-2, x_{2}=-9, y_{2}=-3

 $m=\frac{-3-(-2)}{-9-(-6)}

 $m=\frac{-3+2}{-9+6}

 $m=\frac{-1}{-3}

 $m=\frac{1}{3}

Both slopes are equal.

It is  \frac{1}{3} throughout the line.

Hence option B is the correct answer.

There are 4 possibilities for cone or cup to hold your ice cream.  There are 3 different sizes to choose from.  There are 20 flavors of ace-cream, and then 15 choices of topping. Assuming you must choose 1 flavor of ice cream and 1 topping as the question implies, there are then 4*3*20*15 = 3600 different combinations to choose from. Answer is D: 3600
