Answer:

Equation: P = 10n

P = 40 when n = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Direct Variation: P ∝ n

When n = 15, P = 150

Required

Determine the equation

Her earnings if she sold 4 necklaces

P ∝ n

Convert variation to equation

P = kn

When P = 150, n = 15 (Substitute these values in the given equation)

150 = k * 15

Divide both sides by 15

\frac{150}{15} = \frac{k * 15}{15}

10 = k\\k = 10

Substitute k = 10 in P = kn

P = 10 * n

P = 10n ------- Equation that relates P and n

When she sold 4 necklaces, n = 4

Substitute n = 4 in the formula above

P = 10 * 4

P = 40

Artemon [7]
250 shares for $ 12 per share......250 * 12 = 3000
plus the 2% commission......3000(1.02) = 3060...so the commission is $ 60

she then sells her stock (250 shares) for $ 18 a share....
250 * 18 = 4500
plus the 1% commission....4500(1.01) = 4545...so the commission is $ 45

net proceeds is the amount received by the seller after all costs and expenses are deducted...

expenses : 3000 + 60 + 45 = 3105
revenue : 4500

net proceeds = 4500 - 3105 = $ 1395 <==

Which method is best using this equation 4x-2y=-2,-5x+6y=-15 and why
kipiarov [429]
I think that using the elimination method is the best, because it is the only method that I use when solving these types of equation. For example, for these two equations, you need to multiply one of the equations by a certain number so that you'd be able to find x and y. The elimination method is the method that tells you to do that. It is also the easiest method.

X=19
Z(X)=(X-mu)/sigma=(19-22)/2=-1.5
P(x>X)=1-P(x<X)=1-0.0668072=0.9331928
Therefore probability for a 55-year old to find a job in over 19 weeks is 0.9332
