Rectangle have base and height.

Area of rectangle :

Area = base × height

The second shape is semi-circle.

Area of the circle formula:

Semi-circle is half of the circle.

Area of semi-circle formula:

$A=\frac{1}{2} \pi r^2

The formulas needed to calculate the composite figure is A = bh, \ A=\frac{1}{2} \pi r^2.
