How many molecules or atoms are in 0.0012 moles of aluminum of Octane C8H18

Chemistry

1 mole of anything always contains 6.02x10^23 molecules or moles (this is Avogadro's number). you can use this ratio to find the number of atoms or molecules in any given amount of substance. Due to that 0.0012 moles can be multiplied by Avogadro's number to find that 0.0012 moles of anything contains 7.224x10^20 atoms or molecules depending on what type of substance you are looking at. Aluminum consists of atoms while octane consists of molecules.

I hope this helps. Let me know in the comments if anything is unclear.

What is the ph of an aqueous solution with the hydronium ion concentration : [h3o+] = 3 x 10-5 m ?
BaLLatris [955]

The concentration of hydrogen can be shown as:

[H+ ] = 3 * 10-5 M

pH can be determined as:

pH = - log [H+ ]

= - log (3 * 10-5)

= 4.53

Thus the pH of solution is 4.53

Calculate the molality of a 5.73 M ethanol (C2H5OH) solution whose density is 0.9327 g/mL.
Natalka [10]

Answer:

Molality = 8.57 m

Explanation:

Given data:

Molarity of solution = 5.73 M

density = 0.9327 g/mL

Molality of solution = ?

Solution:

Molality = moles of solute / kg of solvent.

Kg of solvent:

Mass of 1 L solution = density× volume

Mass of 1 L solution = 0.9327 g/mL × 1000 mL

Mass of 1 L solution = 932.7 g

Mass of solute:

Mass of 1 L = number of moles × molar mass

Mass = 5.73 mol × 46.068 g/mol

Mass = 263.97 g

Mass of solvent:

Mass of solvent = mass of solution - mass of solute

Mass of solvent = 932.7 g - 263.97 g

Mass of solvent = 668.73 g

In Kg = 668.73 /1000 = 0.6687 Kg

Molality:

Molality = number of moles of solute / mass of solvent in Kg

Molality = 5.73 mol / 0.6687 Kg

Molality = 8.57 m

What is the molecular formula of the structure below?
taurus [48]

Answer:

C₆H₆

Explanation:

Each border of the figure represents 1 atom of carbon. We have 6 borders = 6 atoms of carbon.

Each atom of carbon form 4 bonds. All the carbons are doing a double bond and a single bond with other carbons. That means are bonded 3 times. The other bond (That is not represented in the figure. See the image) comes from hydrogens. As we have 6 carbons that are bonded each 1 with one hydrogen. There are six hydrogens and the molecular formula is:

C₆H₆

This structure is: Benzene

Explain why photosynthesis is much slower in underwater plants.
Viktor [21]

Answer:

Gases such as carbon dioxide diffuse much more slowly in water than in air. Plants that are fully submerged have greater difficulty obtaining the carbon dioxide they need. To help ameliorate this problem, underwater leaves lack a waxy coating because carbon dioxide is easier to absorb without this layer.
