Answer:

b) 6.03 seconds

c) 43.164 m/s

Explanation:

t = Time taken

u = Initial velocity = 16 m/s

v = Final velocity

s = Displacement

a = Acceleration due to gravity = 9.81 m/s²

v=u+at\\\Rightarrow 0=16-9.81\times t\\\Rightarrow \frac{-16}{-9.81}=t\\\Rightarrow t=1.63 \s

s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2\\\Rightarrow s=16\times 1.63+\frac{1}{2}\times -9.81\times 1.63^2\\\Rightarrow s=13.05\ m

So, the stone would travel 13.05 m up

So, total height of the stone would fall is 13.05+80 = 93.05 m

s=ut+\frac{1}{2}at^2\\\Rightarrow 93.05=0t+\frac{1}{2}\times 9.81\times t^2\\\Rightarrow t=\sqrt{\frac{93.05\times 2}{9.81}}\\\Rightarrow t=4.4\ s

b) The stone will land 1.63+4.4 = 6.03 seconds later

v=u+at\\\Rightarrow v=0+9.81\times 4.4\\\Rightarrow v=43.164\ m/s

c) The stone's velocity when it lands is 43.164 m/s

a sponge and a bar of soap occupy the same amount of space, but the soap is much more dense than the sponge
Alex Ar [27]
Yes, that's correct.  That's a big part of the reason why
the soap floats in water and the sponge sinks in it.

Una caja de 5.0kg de masa se acelera desde el reposo a través del piso mediante una fuerza a una tasa de 2.0 /s2 durante 7.0s en
Nady [450]

Responder:

<h2>490 julios </h2>

Explicación:

Se dice que el trabajo se realiza cuando una fuerza aplicada a un objeto hace que el objeto se mueva a través de una distancia. El trabajo realizado por un cuerpo se expresa mediante la fórmula;

Workdone = Fuerza * Distancia

Como Fuerza = masa * aceleración,

Workdone = masa * aceleración * distancia

Masa dada = 5.0kg, aceleración = 2.0m / s² d =?

Para obtener d, usaremos una de las leyes del movimiento,

d = ut + 1 / 2at²

u = 0 (ya que el cuerpo acelera desde el reposo) yt = 7.0s

d = 0 + 1/2 (2) (7) ²

d = 49m

Workdone = 5 * 2 * 49

Workdone = 490 Julios

If a nearsighted person has a far point df that is 3.50 m from the eye, what is the focal length f1 of the contact lenses that t
Anastaziya [24]

Answer:

f1 = -3.50 m

Explanation:

For a nearsighted person an object at infinity must be made to  appear  to be at his far point which is 3.50 m away. The image of an object at infinity must be formed on the same side of the lens as the object.

∴ v = -3.5 m

Using mirror formula,

i/f1 = 1/v + 1/u

Where f1 = focal length of the contact lens, v = image distance = -3.5 m, u =         object distance = at infinity(∞) = 1/0

∴ 1/f1 = (1/-3.5) + 1/infinity

  Note that, 1/infinity = 1/(1/0) = 0/1 =0.

∴ 1/f1 = 1/(-3.5) + 0

  1/f1 = 1/(-3.5)

Solving the equation by finding the inverse of both side of the equation.

∴ f1 = -3.50 m

 Therefore a converging lens of focal length  f1 = -3.50 m

would be needed by the person to see an object at infinity clearly
