Arrange the three common unit cells in order from least dense to most dense packing. a. face-centered cubic < body-centered c
maks197457 [2]

Answer:

b. primitive cubic < body-centered cubic < face-centered cubic

Explanation:

The coordination number is defined as the number of atoms (or ions) surrounding an atom (or ion) in a crystal lattice. Its value gives us a measure of how tightly the spheres are packed together. The larger the coordination number, the closer the spheres are to each other.

  • In the primitive cubic, each sphere is in contact with 6 spheres, so its coordination number is 6.
  • In the body-centered cubic, each sphere is in contact with 8 spheres, so its coordination number is 12.
  • In the face-centered cubic, each sphere is in contact with 12 spheres, so its coordination number is 12.

Therefore, the increasing order in density is the primitive cubic first, then the body-centered cubic, and finally the face-centered cubic.

An air/gasoline vapor mix in an automobile cylinder has an initial temperature of 180 ∘C and a volume of 13 cm3 . If the mixture
earnstyle [38]

Answer:

The final volume will be 24.7 cm³

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given:

Initial temperature = 180 °C

initial volume = 13 cm³ = 13 mL

The mixture is heated to a fina,l temperature of 587 °C

Pressure and amount = constant

Step 2: Calculate final volume

V1/T1 = V2/T2

with V1 = the initial volume V1 = 13 mL = 13*10^-3

with T1 = the initial temperature = 180 °C = 453 Kelvin

with V2 = the final volume = TO BE DETERMINED

with T2 = the final temperature = 587 °C = 860 Kelvin

V2 = (V1*T2)/T1

V2 = (13 mL *860 Kelvin) /453 Kelvin

V2 = 24.68 mL = 24.7 cm³

The final volume will be 24.7 cm³

which atoms are moving faster those in a spoon at 0 degrees fahrenheit or those in a fork 0 degrees celsius
myrzilka [38]
I would say the atoms in the fork are moving faster. 0 degrees Fahrenheit is -17.7778 in Celsius while 0 degrees in Celsius is equal to 32 degrees in Fahrenheit.

Calculate the molarity of sodium chloride in a half-normal saline solution (0.45% NaCl). The molar mass of NaCl
Cerrena [4.2K]

Answer:

0.077 M

Explanation:

Molarity is the representation of the solution.

Molarity:

It is amount of solute in moles per liter of solution and represented by M

Formula used for Molarity

                    M = moles of solute / Liter of solution . . . . . . . . . . (1)

Data Given :

The concentration of half normal (NaCl) saline = 0.45g / 100 g

So,

Volume of Solution =  100 g = 100 mL

Volume of Solution in L =  100 mL / 1000

Volume of Solution =  0.1 L

molar mass of NaCl = 58.44 g/mol

Now to find number of moles of Nacl

               no. of moles of NaCl = mass of NaCl / molar mass

               no. of moles of NaCl =  0.45g / 58.44 g/mol

               no. of moles of NaCl = 0.0077 g

Put values in the eq (1)

                  M = moles of solute / Liter of solution . . . . . . . . . . (1)

                  M = 0.0077 g / 0.1 L

                  M = 0.077 M

So the molarity of half-normal saline solution (0.45% NaCl) = 0.077 M
