A meteorologist is monitoring the atmospheric pressure at various cities whose height above sea level varies. The meteorologist

determines that the atmospheric pressure decreases by 12% for each additional kilometer the city is above sea level. It has been determined that the atmospheric pressure at sea level is 103 kPa (kilopascals).

<span>The atmospheric pressure decreases by 12% for each additional kilometer above sea level=>

Pressure = [Pressure at sea level] * (0.88)^x, where x is the height measured in Km

Pressure = 103 kPa * (0.88)^x

You can see that at sea level x = 0 and Pressure = 103 kPa* (0.88)^0 =103 kPa.

Then, at 5.2 km, x = 5.2 => Pressure = 103 kPa * (0.88)^5.2 = 52.98 kPa

Answer: 53 kPa

When a wave is too steep to support itself, the wave front collapses creating a ________ that advances up the shoreline.
galben [10]

When a wave is too steep to support itself, the wave front collapses therefore creating a break.

<h3>What is a Wave?</h3>

This is defined as the propagation of disturbance from one place to another in an organized manner.

In situations where the wave is  too steep to support itself there is a break in the wavefront which  advances up the shoreline.

Dmitriy789 [7]

Answer: 6000N/m^2

Explanation:

Weight =1500N

Area =0.5m^2

Pressure =1500/(0.5^2)

               =6000N/m^2

A displacement vector begins at the point (2,3) on a Cartesian plane and ends at (5, 7). Calculate the length of this vector
babunello [35]

Answer:

The length is d = 5

Explanation:

We must identify the respective coordinates of both points.

(x1,y1) = (2,3)

(x2,y2) = (5,7)

Now we know the distance equation of a straight line:

d=\sqrt{(x_{2} -x_{1} )^{2} +(y_{2} -y_{1} )^{2} } \\d=\sqrt{(5-2)^{2} +(7-3)^{2} }\\ d=\sqrt{9+16} \\d=5
