An "informed citizen" refers to a citizen that is aware of the events and issues that occur in his context such as community, state or nation and besides this, a citizen that can be actively involved in this issues and analyze information critically. Although there are main ways from achieving this, the most basic principles involve reading news and other sources that provide information daily; analyzing information critically before trusting it as not all information should be believed and using the information learnt in other contexts for example to discuss with others with opposite point of view or to lead actions that can solve or help to the solution of an issue.
This implies reliable or authentic and appropriate ways to become a citizen include to watch and read the news daily and to talk to people about current issues, especially those with opposing points of view as in this way a citizen can learn about the issues that occur in his context and use the information. However, read and trust online blogs is not a way of becoming an informed citizen as informed citizens analyze information critically and do not believe all the information especially unreliable information as the one presented in blogs. Thus, only I and II are ways to become an informed citizen.
