The ratio of boys to girls in a school is 4:5. How many boys are in the school if there are 720 students.
scZoUnD [109]

Answer: 320 boys

Step-by-step explanation: you would first take the total number (720) and divide it by the total number shown in the ratio (5+4=9)

720/9= 80

You would then take 80 and multiply it by 4 because that is the number representing the boys

80*4= 320

if the graph of a quadratic function intersects with the x axis two times, how many solutions are there to the equation when set
konstantin123 [22]
Hello there!

This is a conceptual question about quadratic functions.

Remember that a solution of ANY function is where it intersects the x-axis, so if the quadratic function intersects the x-axis TWO times, this means that there are TWO real solutions.

Here's a list of things to remember that will help you out for quadratic functions...
•if a quadratic function intersects the x-axis twice, it has two real solutions.
•if a quadratic function intersects the x-axis once, it has one real solution and one imaginary solution.
•if a quadratic function intersects the x-axis zero times, it has zero deal solutions and two imaginary solutions.

Please NOTE: If you want to know how many solutions a polynomial function has, look at it's highest exponent. If it is 2, then it has 2 solutions whether they be real or imaginary. If it is 3, then it has 3 solutions.

Also, if one of the factors are the same for a polynomial function, the way it hits the x-axis changes! This is just some extra information to help you in the long run!

I hope this helps!
Best wishes :)

X + 4y = -8 x-4y=-8 elimination
Juli2301 [7.4K]

Steps :-

■ Eliminate the equations (subtract them). You'll get the value of 1 variable.

■ Then substitute in another equation to get the value of the other variable.

Answer :-

■ x = -8 & y = 0

A farmer has 220 bushels of beans for sale at a farmer's market. He sells an average of 16 and three fourths bushels each day.
Artist 52 [7]

Answer:

The answer is= 119 Bushels and a half(119.5)

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation related to the problem= 220-(67/4)·T=bushels of Beans left

After 6 days=

220-(67/4·)6=bushels of Beans left

Bushels of beans left=119.5---> You need to change the dot for a fraction

119.5 is 119 bushes and a half so

The answer is= 119 Bushels and a half(119.5)
