Well first, you have to eliminate x by subtracting it by itself and moving it to the other side of the equation, next to 6. should look like this -> -2y = -3x + 6 . after that you’re supposed to get y by itself by dividing. so -2/-2 = 1 -3/-2 = 3/2 and 6/-2 is -3. which all ends up to be y= 3/2x - 3

Find the area of a regular hexagon with an apothem 10.4 yards long and a side 12 yards long
enyata [817]
Regular hexagon consists of 6 congruent triangles.
So the area, A, of the regular hexagon is 6 x the area of one triangle
The area of a triangle is half the base times the height
The height of a triangle is the apothem of the hexagon and the base is the side of the hexagon.

A = 6* 10.4 * (12/2) yard^2 = 374.4 yard^2

A regular pentagon is created using the bases of five congruent isosceles triangles, joined at a common vertex. The total number
sukhopar [10]
It is to be remembered that a a pentagon has five sides. First, we determine each of the central angles by dividing the given sum (360°) by 5. This gives us the answer of 72°. If we let x be the congruent angles in the base and noting that the sum of the internal angles of the triangle is 180°, we have the equation,
                                         72 + x + x = 180°
The value of x from the equation is 54°.

What constant do you need to add to each quadratic to complete the square?
babunello [35]

Answer:

1. 4

2. 16

3. 9

Step-by-step explanation:

Completing the square requires a quadratic in ax^2+bx=c form. Once in this form, calculate (\frac{b}{2})^2.

1. (\frac{b}{2})^2=(\frac{-4}{2})^2=4

2. (\frac{b}{2})^2=(\frac{-8}{2})^2=16

3. Requires you divide everything by 3 first.

\frac{3x^2+18x}{3} =\frac{249}{3} \\x^2+6x=81

(\frac{b}{2})^2=(\frac{6}{2})^2=9
