The magnetic forces enable a maglev train to float above the tracks due to the repulsion property of the similar magnetic poles.

Explanation:

The maglev trains consists of a guide-wave which is made up of a network of conventional electromagnet or superconducting element.

The conventional electromagnet with high energy in the guide-way will repel the magnetic poles present below the maglev trains when the current is passed.

As electromagnets attain magnetic energy in the presence of high amount of current, more energy is required for conventional electromagnet guide-ways used maglev trains. But the electromagnets cause repulsion with the magnetic in the bottom of maglev trains leading to floating of the trains on the track or guide-ways.

For superconducting guide-ways, it require less energy compared to electromagnetic guide-ways but very low temperature should be maintained.

As at low temperatures, superconductors will repel the magnetic field due to Meissner effect, it will expel the magnetic flux density thus leading to floating of maglev trains.

Answer:

We understand that two like poles of magnet repel each other. Maglev train is based on the same concept. The train levitates above the tracks because of repulsion between one set of magnets. One set of magnets lifts the train upwards causing it to levitate or float above tracks and other set of magnets causes it to move forward. This method enables less consumption of energy as loss of energy due to friction is negligible and also, high speed can be achieved.

Leona [35]

Answer: conductors are substances that allow heat or electricity to pass through . It deals with only the flow of electrons.

Eg. water, copper wire, iron rod, some ceramic materials, metallic nail.

Insulators are materials that do not allow heat or electricity to pass through.

Eg. Book, plastic, rubber, glass, paper

PLEASE HELP. A substance decays according the the equation ae^-0.0025t, where t is in minutes. Find the half life of the substan
mojhsa [17]

First of all, that's not an equation. An equation needs an 'equals' sign ( = ),
so you need something like

               Amount present = a e^-0.0025t .

                                   'a' = amount present when t = 0 .

The half-life is the time it takes for the original amount to decay to half of it.

That's just 't' when                      e^-0.0025t  =  1/2

Take the natural log of each side: -0.0025t = ln(0.5)

Divide each side by  -0.0025 :        t = ln(0.5) / (-0.0025) =

                                                     (-0.69315) / (-0.0025) =

                                                   t  =  277.26 minutes

                                                    ( 4hrs 37min 15.5sec)

Rounded to nearest tenth:  t = 277.3 minutes .

As part of an interview for a summer job with the Coast Guard, you are asked to help determine the search area for two sunken sh
marshall27 [118]

Answer:

The resultant velocity is v_t=10 knots

Explanation:

Apply the law of conservation of momentum

     M_L *v_L + M_f * V_f = (M_L + M_f) v_t

Where M_L is the mass of the Luxury Liner = 40,000 ton

            v_L is the velocity of Luxury Liner = 20 knots due west

            M_f mass of freighter = 60,000

           v_f is the velocity of freighter = 10 knots due north

Apply the law of conservation of momentum toward the the west direction

         v_f = 0 \ knots

So the equation would be

              M_L *v_L = (M_L + M_f) v_t

Substituting values

            40000*20 = (40000+ 60000)v_t_w

Where v_t_w the final velocity due west

Making v_t_w the subject

          v_t_w = \frac{40,000* 20}{(40000 + 60000)}

                = 8 \ knots

Apply the law of conservation of momentum toward the the north direction

          v_L = 0 \ knots

So the equation would be

           M_f *v_f = (M_L + M_f) v_t_n

Where v_t_n the final velocity due north

     Making v_t_n the subject

          v_t_n = \frac{60,000* 10}{(40000 + 60000)}

                = 6 \ knots

The resultant velocity is

       v_t = \sqrt{v_t_w^2 + v_t_n^2}

            = \sqrt{8^2 +6^2}

           v_t=10 knots

As the temperature rises the solubility of all gases in water also ______
Anastasy [175]

Answer:

As the temperature rises the solubility of all gases in water also will decrease.

Explanation:

The solubility of gases in water increase with the decrease of the temperature, and vice-versa.

The scape of the gas molecules from solution occurs by the breaks of the intermolecular bonds as a consequence of the increase of the kinetic energy which causes an increase in the motion of the gas molecules in solution.

That is why as the temperature rises the solubility of all gases in water also will decrease.

I hope it helps you!
