The answer would be x=-16
2/3 x+1 = 1/6 x-7
4x+6=x-42
Multiply both sides by six to get whole numbers it makes it easier to work with.
3x=-48
Then move the x to the left of the equation away from the other numbered
X=-16
Finally divide both sides by 3 to get x alone and the answer

A city has a population of 310,000 people.Suppose that each year the population grows by 6.5% . What will the po
brilliants [131]

Answer:

546,397 people

Step-by-step explanation:

We solve for the above question, using the formula for Exponential growth

The formula is given as

P(t) = Po (1 + r)^t

Po = Initial population = 310,000

r = Exponential growth rate = 6.5% = 0.065

t = Time in years = 9

P(t) = Population size after time t

Hence:

P(t) = 310,000 × (1 + 0.065)⁹

P(t) = 546,396.82088 people

Approximately =546,397 people

The population will be 546,397 people after 9 years.

Jim’s work evaluating 2(3/5)^3 is shown below.
Oksanka [162]

Answer:

Option b.

Step-by-step explanation:

we have

2(\frac{3}{5})^{3}

Evaluate

2(\frac{3}{5})^{3}=2(\frac{3^{3}}{5^{3}})\\ \\=2(\frac{27}{125})\\ \\=\frac{54}{125}

therefore

He did not apply the power to the denominator of 3/5

50× 3/8 how to reduce answer to lowest te
hoa [83]

The lowest term is \frac{75}{4}.

Solution:

Given expression is 50\times\frac{3}{8}

<u>To reduce this term to the lowest term:</u>

$50\times\frac{3}{8}=\frac{50}{1}\times\frac{3}{8}

Multiply the numerator and denominator.

$50\times\frac{3}{8}=\frac{150}{8}

Now, divide the numerator and denominator by the greatest common factor.

Here 150 and 8 both have common factor 2.

So, divide numerator and denominator by 2.

           $=\frac{150\div2}{8\div2}

           $=\frac{75}{4}

$50\times\frac{3}{8}=\frac{75}{4}

Hence the lowest term is \frac{75}{4}.
