b) A diferença entre as curvas A e B no intervalo X, é resultante da diminuição da população de bactérias enquanto elas não podiam metabolizar a lactose.

Essas bactérias metabolizavam a glicose, o que permitia que elas sobrevivessem nessa cultura mesmo com a presença da lactose.
