a) The thinning is most pronounced in the polar regions, especially over Antarctica. Ozone depletion is a major environmental problem because it increases the amount of ultraviolet (UV) radiation that reaches Earth's surface, which increases the rate of skin cancer, eye cataracts, and genetic and immune system damage.

Don't get sunburned.

Avoid tanning, and never use UV tanning beds.

Highest ionization energy: Li, Be, B
Ad libitum [116K]

Hello!

On the periodic table, as we go down the periodic table, the ionization energy decreases, but as we go across the periodic table (left to right), the ionization increases.

On the periodic table, lithium (Li) is located in column one, beryllium (Be) is located in column two, and (B) boron is located in column 13. As stated above, when we go across the periodic table (left to right), the ionization increases.

Therefore, the element with the highest ionization energy is Boron, or symbol B on the period table.

An air mass usually forms in an area of _____. low pressure because it's stable low pressure because it's unstable high pressure
horsena [70]

Answer: high pressure because it's stable

Explanation:

Air mass is volume of air which has stable temperature, humidity and pressure horizontally. Over time, each air mass acquires properties of the region by residing over same part of a surface.

Areas of low pressure and high pressure occur where there is warm air and cold air respectively. An air mass usually forms over an area of high pressure. Warm air rises up and cold air takes its place. Warm air has low density and low pressure where as cold air has high density and pressure and therefore, sinks to the bottom. This is a stable condition.  The movement of air mass is responsible for maintenance of temperature conditions on Earth.
