Should a mental hospital have the right to medicate, shock, or lobotomize a patient if he is really difficult?

Answer:

Nope

Explanation:

While a small percentage of people supposedly got better or stayed the same, for many people, lobotomy had negative effects on a patient's personality, initiative, inhibitions, empathy, and ability to function on their own. A 2010 review of eight meta-analyses concluded that, because shock therapy causes persistent and permanent memory loss and a slightly increased risk of death, "its use cannot be scientifically justified." Many recipients voluntarily consent to shock therapy, which is typically given for treatment-resistant depression, and get better. Doing this will basically hurt a patient in the long run and it will definitely ruin mental health and shorten life span; since cases show that they are more succtable to sucide.

Possibly medicate, but definitely not shock or lobotomize. it’s inhumane, even if the person is difficult to deal with.

Marizza181 [45]

Answer:

A. their blood pressure becomes elevated, forcing more fluid into interstitial spaces as blood hydrostatic pressure rises.

Explanation:

Edema is characterized by an increase in the amount of interstitial fluid in a tissue or within a cavity. The fluid accumulated in edema is formed by an aqueous solution of salts and proteins from the blood plasma.  An edema can have various causes, such as changes in the wall of a capillary, decreased plasma oncotic pressure, increased hydrostatic blood pressure, sodium retention, and decreased lymphatic drainage.

In people who are confined to bed for long periods of time they usually develop edema because blood pressure rises, forcing more fluid into the interstitial spaces as hydrostatic blood pressure increases.
