Area = Side^2

Area =( 4x + 2 )^2

Area = (4x)^2 + 2(4x)(2) + (2)^2

Area = 16x^2 + 16x + 4

Thus the correct answer is option B .

If 3/4 of an inch of rain fell in 1/2 hour, explain how to get the unit rate
bearhunter [10]

Answer:

Search to find the detailed rainfall collections if you want more detailed rainfall intensity data. If all available is monthly average in mm, take the monthly average and divide by number of hours in that month. So if you had 300 mm in April, take 360 mm/(30 days * 24 hours) = 0.5 mm/hour average monthly intensity. so that's it

Find the coordinats of P
Crazy boy [7]

\textit{internal division of a line segment using ratios} \\\\\\ A(8,6)\qquad B(-2,-9)\qquad \qquad \stackrel{\textit{ratio from A to B}}{3:2} \\\\\\ \cfrac{A\underline{P}}{\underline{P} B} = \cfrac{3}{2}\implies \cfrac{A}{B} = \cfrac{3}{2}\implies 2A=3B\implies 2(8,6)=3(-2,-9)

(\stackrel{x}{16}~~,~~ \stackrel{y}{12})=(\stackrel{x}{-6}~~,~~ \stackrel{y}{-27})\implies P=\underset{\textit{sum of the ratios}}{\left( \cfrac{\stackrel{\textit{sum of x's}}{16-6}}{3+2}~~,~~\cfrac{\stackrel{\textit{sum of y's}}{12-27}}{3+2} \right)} \\\\\\ P=\left( \cfrac{10}{5}~~,~~\cfrac{-15}{5} \right)\implies P=(2~~,~~-3)

A rectangle has one side on the x-axis and two vertices on the curve, = 1/1+x^2. find the coordinates of the vertices of the rec
Tcecarenko [31]
<span>The dimension of the rectangle would be length=#4/sqrt3# and width =4-#4/3= 8/3# Explanation: Let one vertex on the x axis be x, then the other vertex would be -x. Length of the rectangle would be thus 2x and width would be #4-x^2# Area of the rectangle would be A=#2x(4-x^2)= 8x-2x^3# For maximum area #(dA)/dx=0=8-6x^2#, which gives x=#2/sqrt3# The dimension of the rectangle would be length=#4/sqrt3# and width =4-#4/3= 8/3# Was this helpful? Let the contributor know!</span>
