Answer:

Environment and competition is the leading cause of evolution. It's an instinct to want to live, but trying to survive is difficult when other animals have the same goal. An ecosystem is a cycle, but every generation of this ecosystem slightly changes, and so do the animals. Every bug that has fitness can start overpopulating the ecosystem, leading to a surge of resources for what preys on the bug. Now bird's population goes up, so do other animal populations. Or the bug becomes an invasive species, and birds are being hunted too often to decrease the population.

In a different scenario, bugs are evolving because of the selection pressure that the environment is giving them. The birds have become better over the generation, and now have a more suited beak to catch the bug off the ground. The bug population maybe be decreasing, but the ones who live through the crisis are populating with bugs that certain gene that helped them out. But it's not over, the bug population isn't declining but it wasn't as big as it was before. The bird will find more ways to find and capture the bugs. But then bugs will keep surviving through the selection pressure and become much harder to find since they figured out camouflage. The bug that was neon yellow was dying since they were easy to see. Now they can range from green to black to hide in the environment. Now the birds are facing the selection pressure, it's a cycle.

Describe what happens to the amount of available oxygen as you get deeper in the ocean.
yKpoI14uk [10]

Answer: The surface water is usually saturated with oxygen, absorbed from the atmosphere and from photosynthesis of algae. In the deep water the oxygen is consumed when breaking down the organic matter that sinks from the surface. ... In areas with poor water turnover the oxygen in the deep water can become completely used up.

As a car is slowed, most of its kinetic energy is converted by the brakes to:
Georgia [21]

Answer:

potential energy!

When slowing an object down the kinetic energy is converted into potential energy. This means the car is either not in motion or slowly getting to a stopping point.

Remember! Newton's first law states that every object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line unless compelled to change its state by the action of an external force!

Rhonda Runsalot is a 20 year old woman. She is running at VO2max. Her heart rate is 200 b/min. Her stroke volume is 100 ml blood
katen-ka-za [31]

Answer:

Cardiac output = 20 L/min

Explanation:

The cardiac output of a person refers to the volume of blood the heart pumps in a minute. The normal range for cardiac output is about 4 to 8 L/min. However, this can vary depending on the metabolic needs of the individual at any instant of time, for example, it is higher when exercising than  when resting.

Cardiac output is calculated from the product of the stroke volume in liters/min and the heart rate in beats/min

Cardiac output  = stroke volume * heart rate

For the individual who is running; stroke volume = 100 mL/beat or 0.1 L/beat

heart rate = 200 beats/min

Cardiac output =0.1 L/beat * 200 beats/min

Cardiac output = 20 L/min
