Answer:

(a) ₁₉K: 1s² 2s² 2p⁶ 3s² 3p⁶ 4s¹

(b) ₁₀Ne: 1s² 2s² 2p⁶

---

(a) 3

(b) 6

(c) 7

Explanation:

We can state the ground-state electron configuration for each element following Aufbau's principle.

(a) ₁₉K: 1s² 2s² 2p⁶ 3s² 3p⁶ 4s¹

(b) ₁₀Ne: 1s² 2s² 2p⁶

Second part

(a) Al belongs to Group 13 in the Periodic Table. It has 13-10=3 electrons in the valence shell.

(b) O belongs to Group 16 in the Periodic Table. It has 16-10=6 electrons in the valence shell.

(c) F belongs to Group 17 in the Periodic Table. It has 17-10=7 electrons in the valence shell.

What us the % composition of oxygen (O) in iron (III) hydroxide, Fe(OH)
3?
S_A_V [24]

Answer:

44.91% of Oxygen in Iron (III) hydroxide

Explanation:

To solve this question we must find the molar mass of Fe(OH)3 and the molar mass of the oxygen in this molecule. Percent composition will be:

Molar mass Oxygen / molar mass Fe(OH)3 * 100

Molar mass Fe(OH)3 and oxygen:

1Fe = 55.845g/mol*1 = 55.845

3O = 16.00g/mol*3 = 48.00 - Molar mass of Oxygen

3H = 1.008g/mol*3 = 3.024

55.845 + 48.00 + 3.024 =

106.869g/mol is molar mass of Fe(OH)3

% Composition of oxygen is:

48.00g/mol / 106.869g/mol * 100 =

44.91% of Oxygen in Iron (III) hydroxide

Determine the empirical and molecular formula:
Bingel [31]

Answer:

The empirical formula = molecular formula = C13H18O2

Explanation:

in 100% compound we have 75.6 % Carbon ( Molar mass = 12g/mole), 8.80% hydrogen ( Molar mass = 1.01 g/mole) and 15.5% Oxygen (Molar mass = 16.01 g/mole).

Carbon: 75.6g / 12 = 6.29

Hydrogen: 8.80/ 1 = 8.80

Oxygen: 15.5/ 16 = 0.97

⇒0.97 is the smallest so we divide everything through by 0.97

C: 6.29 / 0.97 = 6.48 ≈ 6.5

H: 8.80 /0.97 = 9

O: 0.97 / 0.97 = 1

To get rid of decimals, we multiply by 2

C: 6.5 x 2 = 13

H: 9 x 2 = 18

O: 1 x 2 = 2

The empirical formula = C13H18O2

13x 12g/mol + 18x1g/mol + 2x 16g/mol = 156 + 18 + 32 = 206g/mol which is the molar mass of ibuprofen

The empirical formula = molecular formula = C13H18O2

Explain how our body systems work together to get oxygen into and around our body.
aleksandrvk [35]

Answer: (1) Inhales (breathes in) Oxygen - good for the body - gives it to the Circulatory System to be transported throughout the body through the blood. (1) Digestive System gets nutrients (good) from food and hands it over to the blood and Circulatory System then carries those nutrients where they need to go.

The boiling point of methanol is 64 7°C. Its melting point is -976°C. At room temperature (-25°C), methanol is in which state?
marissa [1.9K]

At -25 °C, methanol, whose boiling point is 64.7 °C and its melting point is -97.6 °C, is in the liquid state.

The melting point is the temperature at which a substance passes from solid to liquid. Below the melting point, a substance is in the solid state. Above the melting point, a substance is in the liquid or gas state.

The boiling point is the temperature at which a substance passes from liquid to gas. Below the boiling point, a substance is solid or liquid. Above the boiling point, a substance is in the gas state.

At -25 °C, methanol is above the melting point (-97.6 °C) and below the boiling point (64.7 °C). Thus, it is in the liquid state.

At -25 °C, methanol, whose boiling point is 64.7 °C and its melting point is -97.6 °C, is in the liquid state.
