30.0 mL of 0.50 M NaOH to neutralize 15.0 mL of HNO3, what is the concentration (molarity) of the HNO3?
vredina [299]
First find the no. of moles of NaOH :
<span>30/1000 = 0.3 dm3 so no. of moles = 0.3*0.5 = 0.15 moles </span>

<span>as NaOH reacts with HNO3 in a ratio of one to one, there must have been 0.15 moles of HNO3 too </span>
<span>moles/volume = concentration </span>
<span>volume= 15/1000 = 0.15 dm3 </span>

<span>concentration = 1.15/0.15 = 1 mol.dm-3 </span>

<span>The quicker way would be to realize that you used twice as much NaOH so the HNO3 had to be twice as strong</span>

use the heisenberg uncertainty principle to calculate the uncertainity in meters in the position of 0.68g and traveling at a vel
My name is Ann [436]

Answer:

7.7439×10⁻³¹ m

Explanation:

The expression for Heisenberg uncertainty principle is:

\Delta x\times \Delta v=\frac {h}{4\times \pi\times m}

Where m is the mass of the microscopic particle

h is the Planks constant

Δx is the uncertainty in the position

Δv is the uncertainty in the velocity

Given:

mass = 0.68 g = 0.68×10⁻³ kg

Δv = 0.1 m/s

Δx= ?

Applying the above formula as:

\Delta x\times 0.1=\frac {6.62\times 10^{-34}}{4\times \frac {22}{7}\times 0.68\times 10^{-3}}

<u>Δx = 7.7439×10⁻³¹ m</u>

List the five characteristics a substance must have to be a mineral. Explain why coal and a glass marble are not minerals.
Bumek [7]
- Naturally occurring
- Inorganic
- Solid
- Definite chemical composition
- Ordered internal structure
A mineral has to be naturally occurring. Coal is not a mineral because it is carbon-based and comes from fossilized plants. Glass is non-crystalline solid.
