Two aircraft rivets, one of iron and the other of copper, are placed in a calorimeter that has an initial temperature of 10°c.
Dominik [7]

a) Copper is at a higher temperature, so the flow of heat will take place from copper to iron. Heat is a form of energy, which always flows from higher temperature to lower temperature.

b) To determine the actual final temperature, the heat capacity of the calorimeter must be known. A calorimeter constant refers to a constant, which quantifies the heat capacity of a calorimeter. It may be determined by using a known amount of heat to the calorimeter and measuring the corresponding change in temperature of the calorimeter.

0.28gram of NH3 on decomposition gave 0.25gram of nitrogen and hydrogen. Find the volume of hydrogen evolved at Ntp. (2gram hydr
hodyreva [135]

The volume of H₂ evolved at NTP=0.336 L

Further explanation

Reaction

Decomposition of NH₃

2NH₃ ⇒ N₂ + 3H₂

conservation mass : mass reactants=mass product

0.28 NH₃= 0.25 N₂ + 0.03 H₂

2 g H₂ = 22.4 L

so for 0.03 g :

\tt \dfrac{0.03}{2}\times 22.4=0.336

The ideal gas constant, R has several different values that could be used. Which quantity causes these differences? pressure tem
Blababa [14]

Answer : The correct option is, pressure.

Explanation :

The ideal gas equation is,

PV=nRT

where,

P = pressure of the gas

V = volume of the gas

n = number of moles of gas

T = temperature of the gas

R = gas constant

The value of 'R' has several different values which are :

R=0.08205L.atm/mol.K

R=8.3145L.kPa/mol.K

R=8.3145J/mol.K

R=1.987cal/mol.K

R=0.08314L.bar/mol.K

That means, the value of 'R' is different due the change in the pressure value and all the variables (temperature, volume and moles) are constant.

Hence, the correct option is, pressure.
