Why is the chemical formula Li2H incorrect? Select the correct answer below: A. There should be one lithium, not two. B. There s
gogolik [260]

Answer:

There should be one lithium, not two.

Explanation:

Lithium reacts with hydrogen at about 750°C to yield lithium hydride (LiH). LiH is white and powdery in appearance. It releases hydrogen gas when it reacts with water.

The correct formula for Lithium hydride is LiH and not Li2H because both lithium and hydrogen are univalent. Lithium has a valency of +1 while hydrogen has a valency of -1 in lithium hydride. Hydrides are formed between hydrogen and highly electro positive metals. In hydrides, hydrogen is forced to accept an electron from the highly electro positive metal.

Which is the most accurate description of ionic and covalent bonding?
Yuliya22 [10]
Ionic Bonding:
This type of bonding occurs when atoms want to fulfil their valence shells by taking/giving electrons to other atoms. This, leads to completed valence shells in most cases and ionisation of both elements. The opposite charges cause the elements to stick together because opposites attract.

Covalent Bonding:
This type of bonding occurs when electrons are shared between atoms to each fill up their own valence shells by sharing. The balance between the attraction forces and repulsion forces between the shared electrons is called covalent bonding.

Hope I helped :)

11mg of cyanide per kilogram of body weight is lethal for 50% of domestic chickens. If a chicken weighs 3kg, how many grams of c
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

0.033g

Explanation:

Hello,

In this case, since 11 mg per kilogram of body weight has the given lethality, the mg that turn out lethal for a chicken weighting 3 kg is computed by using a rule of three:

11mg\longrightarrow 1kg\\\\?\ \ \ \ \ \ \longrightarrow 3kg

Thus, we obtain:

?=\frac{3kg*11mg}{1kg}\\ \\?=33mg

That in grams is:

=33mg*\frac{1g}{1000mg} \\\\=0.033g

Regards.
