A crate is sitting in the center of a flatbed truck. As the truck accelerates to the east, the crate moves with it, not sliding

on the bed of the truck. In what direction is the friction force exerted by the bed of the truck on the crate? 1. To the south 2. There is no friction force, because the crate isn’t sliding 3. To the west 4. To the east 5. To the north

Answer:

4. To the east

Explanation:

Friction forces always act in the opposite direction that an object tends to move in. In this case, when the truck accelerates to the east, the crate tends to move to the west due to inertia (the tendency for an object to remain at rest or at constant speed). In order to stop the crate from moving, there needs to be a friction force to the east.

The triangular coil of wire in the drawing is free to rotate about an axis that is attached along side AC. The current in the lo
bulgar [2K]

Answer:

Explanation:

The magnetic moment of a current loop is simply the current times the area of the loop. In this case...

height of triangle = 2.00*tan(55) = 2.856 m

Area=0.5*base*height

         =0.5*2*2.856

         =2.856 m²

a)

   magnetic moment = area * current = 2.856 * 5.26 = 14.994 A.m²

b)

then the torque is simply the B field times the magnetic moment

      torque = B * mag moment = 1.6 * 15.022 = 24.03 N-m

The howler monkey is the loudest land animal and, under some circumstances, can be heard up to a distance of 8.9 km. Assume the
Airida [17]

Answer:

\frac{I}{I_0}=113.68

Explanation:

P = Acoustic power = 63 µW

r = Distance to the sound source = 210 m

Acoustic power

P=IA\\\Rightarrow I=\frac{P}{A}\\\Rightarrow I=\frac{63\times 10^{-6}}{4\times \pi \times 210^2}

Threshold intensity = I_0=1\times 10^{-12}\ W/m^2

Ratio

\frac{I}{I_0}=\frac{\frac{63\times 10^{-6}}{4\times \pi \times 210^2}}{1\times 10^{-12}}\\\Rightarrow \frac{I}{I_0}=113.68

Ratio of the acoustic intensity produced by the juvenile howler to the reference intensity is 113.68

What angle is formed by the sun, the earth, and the moon during an eclipse?.
Andrew [12]

Answer:

The Sun-Earth-Moon system happens to exhibit a striking geometric coincidence, which we examine in the first problem. PROBLEM 1. To an observer on Earth, the Sun and the Moon subtend almost the same angle in the sky. The average angle is 0.52 degrees for the Moon and 0.53 degrees for the Sun.

Questions: A study group of students is reviewing claims in an article that gamma rays are among the most dangerous type of elec
kvasek [131]

They should see if there are any sources of bias

Explanation:

The best way to ascertain the reliability of the claim in the article is to see if there is a source of bias.

A source of bias in the article can tell a lot about how reliable and trustworthy the article is. It will also give room to more research about the claim in the article from other sources.

It is possible for some elements of bias to be introduced into a set of observation due to preference and choices.

I believe that if you shine a light in the front of a binocular, then the light would condense and be more pin-pointed while if you point it through the part where your eyes go the light would blow up. Either way, the light will be refracted once it travels through the lenses.
