Answer:

The locus of points where the electric field due to these lines is zero is;

Along the line between the lines closer to line#1 than line #2

Explanation:

The charges on the parallel lines #1 and #2 = Positive linear charge

The charge density on line #2, λ₂ = 2 × The charge density on line #1, λ₁

Therefore, we have;

λ₂ = 2 ×  λ₁

Electric field strength, E, is given as follows;

E = \dfrac{\lambda}{2\cdot \pi\cdot  \epsilon_0\cdot d}

Therefore;

E_1 = \dfrac{\lambda_1}{2\cdot \pi\cdot  \epsilon_0\cdot d}

E_2 = \dfrac{\lambda_2}{2\cdot \pi\cdot  \epsilon_0\cdot d} = 2 \times\dfrac{\lambda_1}{2\cdot \pi\cdot  \epsilon_0\cdot d}

E₂ = 2·E₁

E₂/2 = E₁

E₂/(2·d) = E₁/d

The strength of the electric field at a given distance from line #2 is 2 times the strength of the electric field from line #1 at the same distance

Therefore the strength of the electric field will be the same at a point twice the distance from line #2 than from line #1 which is a point closer to line #1 than line #2.

A spy in a speed boat is being chased down a river by government officials in a faster craft. Just as the officials’ boat pulls
babunello [35]

Answer:

They are 7.4m apart.

Explanation:

Here we have a parabolic motion problem. we need the time taken to land so:

Y=Yo+Vo*t+\frac{1}{2}*a*t^2

considerating only the movement on Y axis:

0=4.6-(9.81)*t^2\\t=0.68s

Because we have a contant velocity motion on X axis:

xs=vs*t\\xs=17m/s*(0.68s)\\xs=11.6m

and

xg=vg*t\\xg=28m/s*(0.68s)\\xg=19m

the distance between them is given by:

d=|xg-xs|\\d=7.4m

How much power is required to lift a 60 kg bed to the top of a 3 meter flight of stairs in 10 seconds?
Zigmanuir [339]

Answer:

176.58Watts

Explanation:

Power= work done /time

Where mass(m)=60kg

Height (h) =3m

Time(s)=10s

Force of gravity = 9.81m/s^2

Power=mgh/t

Power= (60kg) * (9.81m/s^2) * (3m)/10s

Power= 176.58Watts

Convert 0.700 atm of pressure to its equivalent in millimeters of mercury.
inna [77]

Answer:

532 millimeters of mercury

Explanation:

In order to convert the pressure from atm to millimeters of mercury (mm Hg), we should remind the conversion factor between the two units:

1 atm = 760 mm Hg

Therefore, we can solve the problem by setting up the following proportion:

1 atm : 760 mmHg = 0.700 atm : x

Solving for x, we find

x=\frac{(760 mmHg)(0.700 atm)}{1 atm}=532 mmHg
