The air temperature would drop quickly compared to the soil because the difference between solid and gas. But the ground will stay cooler longer than the air because it contains it better than the air.

Question 3 (5 points)
Elan Coil [88]

True: when there is an angle between force and displacement, W=Fd cos \theta

Explanation:

The work done by a force when pushing/pulling an object is given by the equation

W=Fd cos \theta

where

F is the magnitude of the force

d is the displacement of the object

\theta is the angle between the direction of the force and of the displacement

We have two extreme cases:

- When the force is parallel to the displacement, then \theta=0^{\circ} and cos \theta = 1, so the work done is maximum and simply becomes

W=Fd

- When the force is perpendicular to the displacement, then \theta=90^{\circ} and cos \theta =0, so the work done is zero.

The density of aluminum is 2.70 g/ml. A piece of aluminum foil has a mass of 44 g. What is the volume of this piece of aluminum
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

C) 16.3 ml

Explanation:

Density is equal to the ratio between the mass of an object and its volume:

d=\frac{m}{V}

where

m is the mass

V is the volume

In our problem, we know:

- density of aluminium: d=2.70 g/mL

- mass of the aluminium foil: m=44 g

So we can re-arrange the equation above and use these data to find the volume of the piece of aluminium foil:

V=\frac{m}{d}=\frac{44 g}{2.70 g/mL}=16.3 mL

A person does work equal to 2500 J in climbing a tree of height 5 m. What is the mass of the person? The value of g = 9.8 ms². (
seraphim [82]

Answer:

51kg

Explanation:

w=FxS

2500=Fx5

F=2500/5=500

mass = 500/9.8 = 51kg
