Answer:

Cation

Anion

Cation

Cation

Explanation:

If an atom, or atoms, has a balanced number of electrons (negative charge) and protons (positive charge) they are neutral overall. However, if they are not balanced, they will be charged. These charged species are called ions.

What is an anion?

An anion has more electrons than protons, consequently giving it a net negative charge. For an anion to form, one or more electrons must be gained, typically pulled away from other atoms with a weaker affinity for them. The number of electrons gained, and so the charge of the ion, is indicated after the chemical symbol, e.g. chlorine (Cl) gains one electron to become Cl-, whilst oxygen (O) gains two electrons to become O2-.

What is a cation?

A cation has more protons than electrons, consequently giving it a net positive charge. For a cation to form, one or more electrons must be lost, typically pulled away by atoms with a stronger affinity for them. The number of electrons lost, and so the charge of the ion, is indicated after the chemical symbol, e.g. silver (Ag) loses one electron to become Ag+, whilst zinc (Zn) loses two electrons to become Zn2+.

Two common methods to generate an aldehyde is by oxidation of an alcohol and through ozonolysis.
kotykmax [81]

Answer:

a. True.

Explanation:

Only primary and secondary alcohols can oxidise to give an aldehyde. But a weak oxidizing agent must be used to prevent formation of a carboxylic acid or ketone.

weak oxidizing agents: Chromyl chloride, silver/oxygen/500°C

take an example of ethanol:

{ \bf{CH _{3} CH_{2}OH \: \: \frac{Ag/O_{2} }{500 \degree C} > \: \:CH _{3} CHO}}

Here, reactants are Ozone gas, Carbon tetrachloride at a temperature (<20°C), ethanoic acid, zinc and water.

take an example of propanol:

if it undergoes ozonolysis, it gives ethanal and methanal.

1 Clouds are formed when millions of drops of water become suspended in the air. Which
ioda

Answer:

C Condensation of water vapor

Explanation:

One of the components of the atmosphere is water vapour. Water vapour is always present in air.

This water vapour may combine with particles of dust and smoke and condense around them to form clouds.

As more water vapour condenses and coalesces, the clouds become thicker and precipitation eventually follows.

Which features are created by groundwater erosion and deposition? Check all that apply. stalagmites sinkholes rills stalactites
Nitella [24]

Answer:

Stalagmites

Sinkholes

Stalacites

Explanation:

These features are created because the ground water dissolves solid rocks and move the solid rocks, dissolve solutions beneath the ground water gradually and therefore enlarging the cracks, which eventually form a cave. Ground water carries minerals which are then deposited and can form stalagmites or stalactites. If a stalactite and stalagmite combine together, they usually form a column.
