Answer:

The atomic number is specific to an element, and the element with atomic number 7 is Nitrogen.

Atomic number is equal to the number of protons or number of electrons for aa neutral atom.

Mass number is the sum of number of neutrons and number of protons.

Atomic mass is the sum of masses of all protons and neutrons.

Protons and neutrons are located in the nucleus. Electrons are located outside the nucleus in the shells.

atomic number = Number of protons =  number of electrons = 7

Mass number =  number of neutrons + number of protons  = 14

Number of neutrons = Mass number - number of protons = 14 - 7= 7

1. Which graph shows the melting of crystalline solids? Explain your reasoning.
madreJ [45]
(1) The melting of a crystalline solid is best depicted by the second graph. This is because, the second graph shows a horizontal line which means that for a while there was no change in temperature. This zone is the latent heat of fusion.

(2) The first graph shows the graph of a solid that is just heated but does not experience phase change. However, the second graph shows a solid that changes phase (from crystal/solid to liquid).
