Mathematics

4 0

Given:

\Delta MNO\cong \Delta PQR

To find:

The length of QR.

Solution:

We have,

\Delta MNO\cong \Delta PQR

Then, MN=PQ                 (CPCTC)

10=4x-2

10+2=4x

12=4x

Divide both sides by 4.

\dfrac{12}{4}=x

3=x

Similarity,

MO=PR            (CPCTC)

2y+3=21

2y=21-3

2y=18

Divide both sides by 2.

y=9

Now,

x+y=3+9

x+y=12

Therefore, the correct option is d.

Find the side length of X
7nadin3 [17]

Answer:

7√3

Step-by-step explanation:

We can use pythagoreans theorem to solve this

Since, we know one side, and the hypotenuse, we can solve for the other side.

Pythagoreans theorem: a²+b²=c²

Where a and b are two sides, and c is the hypotenuse (the side opposite of the right angle)

In this triangle, 7 is the side, and 14 is the hypotenuse.

I will plug in the values into pythagoreans theorem, and then simplify:

a^{2}+b^{2} =c^{2} \\\\7^{2} +x^{2} =14^{2} \\\\49+x^{2} =196\\\\x^{2} =147\\\\x=\sqrt{147} \\\\x=\sqrt{49*3 }\\\\ x=\sqrt{7^{2} *3 }\\\\x=7\sqrt{3}

So x = 7√3

Solve the following equations;-<br><br> x - 9 /√x + 3 =1
fgiga [73]

Answer:

13 , 6.

Step-by-step explanation:

A equation is given to us and we need to find out the value of x . The given equation to us is ,

\sf\implies \dfrac{ x -9}{\sqrt{x+3}}= 1

Cross multiply ,

\sf\implies x - 9 =\sqrt{ x +3}

Squaring both sides ,

\sf\implies (x - 9)^2 = x + 3

Simplify the whole square ,

\sf\implies x^2+9^2-2.9.x = x +3 \\

\sf\implies x^2+81 - 18x = x -3

Add 3 and subtract x on both sides ,

\sf\implies x^2 -18x-x +81-3=0

Simplify ,

\sf\implies x^2 -19x +78=0

Split the middle term of the quadratic equation,

\sf\implies x^2-13x-6x+78=0

Take out common ,

\sf\implies x( x -13)-6(x-13)=0

Take out ( x -13 ) as common ,

\sf\implies ( x -13)(x-6)=0

Equate both factors to 0 ,

\sf\implies \boxed{\pink{\sf x = 13,6}}

<u>Hence</u><u> the</u><u> </u><u>value</u><u> of</u><u> </u><u>x</u><u> is</u><u> </u><u>1</u><u>3</u><u> </u><u>or </u><u>6</u><u> </u><u>.</u>
