Answer:

C₈H₁₈ + 25/2O₂ —> 8CO₂ + 9H₂O

2C₈H₁₈ + 25O₂ —> 16CO₂ + 18H₂O

Explanation:

The reaction above is simply termed combustion reaction in which an organic compound react with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide and water. Thus, we can obtain the balanced equation for the reaction reaction as follow:

C₈H₁₈ + O₂ —> CO₂ + H₂O

There are 8 atoms of C on the left side and 1 atom on the right side. It can be balance by writing 8 before CO₂ as shown below:

C₈H₁₈ + O₂ —> 8CO₂ + H₂O

There are 18 atoms of H on the left side and 2 atoms on the right side. It can be balance by writing 9 before H₂O as shown below:

C₈H₁₈ + O₂ —> 8CO₂ + 9H₂O

There are 2 atoms of O on the left side and a total of 25 atoms on the right side. It can be balance by writing 25/2 before O₂ as shown below:

C₈H₁₈ + 25/2O₂ —> 8CO₂ + 9H₂O

Thus, the equation is balanced!

The above equation can also be written as follow:

C₈H₁₈ + 25/2O₂ —> 8CO₂ + 9H₂O

Multiply through by 2

2C₈H₁₈ + 25O₂ —> 16CO₂ + 18H₂O

Outline four environmental effect of using charcoal as source of fuel in daily life
nika2105 [10]

Answer: The most commonly cited impact is deforestation, i.e., the clearance of forest or woodland. At a small spatial scale this may indeed be the case but on a larger landscape scale charcoal production most frequently results only in forest degradation. The contribution of charcoal to deforestation in the tropics is less than 7%. Charcoal production most frequently results in forest degradation.  Most charcoal areas have the potential for rapid forest recovery.

Watch the animation depicting Rutherford’s experiment and choose which of the following conclusions are correct.a. The atom cont
Lilit [14]

Answer:

a, b, c, d

Explanation:

Rutherford’ atomic model is based on the gold foil experiment. In this experiment, beam of alpha rays was bombarded on thin gold foil. He observed that:

Most of the alpha particles passed through thin foil without any deflection.

Few alpha particles deflected by an angle of 90o.

Based on observation, Rutherford concluded that majority of the space inside the atom is empty.

He explained defection of few alpha particles by assuming that most of the mass is concentrated at the nucleus and positively charged.

Therefore, among given, the correct statements are:

The atom contains a positively charged nucleus.

Positive charge is condensed in one location within the atom.

The majority of the space inside the atom is empty space

The mass of an atom is concentrated at the nucleus

Therefore, the correct options are:

a, b, c, d
